Description
Character designs in pencil for an undisclosed film pitch. Actually drew these years ago but the commissioner recently said I could release them if I didn't state what they were for, so here ya go. Had full write-ups for each character and they were enjoyable.Related content

these are beautiful designs and whatever this is fort, i'm excited to see it! loving your work as usual. do you have any tips for sketching ragged looking clothing like the last character? i have a few of my own characters that have well-traveled clothing but my art style ends up leaving the clothes looking quite.... clean, to say the least.

The edges are key to selling a rough fabric or leather. With her wearing pelts (animal skins) the edges are uneven as they have to follow the contour of the animal and the skins also curls as it dries out. That curling creates a pleating effect in the leather. If the skinning wasn't a good job it may also have tears and nicks. For cloth show fraying on the visible edge like you see on the forearms. Tears may also be visible by the end of the fabric where the seam has given way. Show a bit of crosshatching to indicate interwoven threads and several places where it has become stretched with little gaps between the threads. If you show threading in the rough fabric don't do it in smoother or tighter woven fabrics. Stains and mud may also be an option depending on the local. Best luck on your pieces.
