Ok this is kinda cheap.... I applied 3 or 4 layers of cheesy iPad app filters on this because I was bored .... but I liked the results..... so I am posting it .... but I really had very little to do with the digital effects.... I basically cheatedRelated content

Dear Fraud,
Kidding! I find it is interesting where people draw their own lines in the sand regarding what is cheating, it is personal and arbitrary and I think we all do it. I sometimes feel like I am cheating when I use sandpaper on my wood carvings. Would it be cheating it you used the filters as a way to design something and then execute it by hand?
regards,
a fellow fraud

It indeed looks good! I wouldn't worry where your art stops and the digital effect starts...it is all part of your creation as far as I'm concerned.

My scanner keeps reading everything very cold.... so in order to get closer to the feel of the original I bump up the warm tones a bit......but on the same app are all these fancy sparkly buttons that I shouldn’t touch....... Even if I end up liking the result, it doesn’t make me happy.
I ran this one through several different stages .... so there was some element of decision making .... but.... not much.....
and it bothers me hitting a button that has a title like summer or starlight.....
.....
but I still do it ...... and then I cry when it looks better than the original.....
evil buttons....

Well.. I tweak up the contrast a bit on mine, it’s the equivalent of hitting the “awesomize” button.. but probably have fewer temptations in B and W.. but only you can decide what’s right for your art

.... honestly I don’t care much about it after it gets to this level of tweaking.... it can be fun, but I don’t really take it very seriously or consider it mine anymore.
I like rough edges and physical materials..... but occasionally, especially on a piece that I struggled with,
Filters are become rose colored glasses I guess....

“La vie en rose”.. indeed.. Or la vie en high contrast, in my case . Got to do something to counteract the deadening effect of the scanner..,
.. but at what point does it become digital art?
