I couldn't get the face right so I heavily copied a face from another spongebob sprite (and by face I mean mouth, eyes, and nose)

I'd probably have trouble with Spongebob, or anything similar to him. I'm not very good with more blatantly cartoony styles, so praise to anyone who can do it well >.>

And praise to anyone who can make more realistic characters, cause I cannot do those at ALL... they always turn out cartoony. Even on the more cartoony ones like this one I'm still kind of meh on... I'd still like to make my own face instead of copying one from another sprite, but I couldn't get it right for the life of me.
Your ponies are great, and they're pretty cartoony. Everyone has their own way of adapting/interpreting characters, and your way is amazing.

I'll grant you that, about faces. To be honest, I find it very hard to break out of a certain mold of making all faces have the same shape and structure as each other, and that's been something that's been true since I started doing art. It's a really bad habit and it's really... tough, I'd say. It's why I can praise and appreciate anyone who makes any successes about them.
Even if my Ponies are great, they suffer from the same thing... :P It's something I need to try and get a better grip on, as things stand.
