Description
Title: Fish PendantMedium: Silver, Amethyst
Size of Work: 3” x 2” x .4”
Date Completed: December, 2009
Cuttlefish, used to create metal castings, have a distinctive pattern. I designed the shaped of my piece to incorporate the texture of cuttlefish bone. This piece took many tries to complete. Attaching a bezel was quite difficult because of the thickness of the casting. To continue the theme of the fish, I designed an original clasp in the shape of a fish tail. The result inspired me to expand my consideration when designing a piece to include texture as an important element.

Critique for You:
Oooh! I like the color of the stone quite a lot! The design around the stone is also quite interesting, because it wraps around the stone and gives it something extra! Silver and purple do go together if they are the right shade of purple, which this is.
The only thing I can say that needs work because I didn't know what it was before I red what it was...is the fish! It's hard to see, because I'm not sure if it has fins or not! The head was also a little weird, but by the end, I could see the fish.
I hope that helps!

Yes that helps! It doesn't have any side fins, which I totally...er...forgot about. Completely. Until now. But thank you so much for your critique!

Oh good! And yes, that would make it easier to define as a fish! But it's still a very lovely piece!
You're welcome!
