A barbarian usually can't get a full animal companion... you could try to tame a wild wolf via handle animal, but that one is up to your GM. Easier would be getting a few levels in druid (fastest: animal companion from lvl 1 onwards) or ranger (slower: animal companion from level 4 onwards)...
