I finally drew Gerard from My Chemical Romance =^-^= Unfortunately, the more I look at the drawing, the less like him it looks =T_T= Everyone I've showed it to though thinks it's great. I think, though, it's not too bad concidering how long it's been since I've drawn any portraits. And chibi Gerard is cute =^-^=If anyone knows a way to get this to the band, either via email or snailmailing a fanclub, I'd appreciate it. I don't think they'll be back to Western Australia any time soon.. Not at least till the BDO next year.

the sketch itself is good its just the positioning of the mouth that spoked you wheel. maybe the reference pic you were using gave you a bit of trouble in that area?

Wow! You are really good at portraits. I do have some critique, though, if you don't mind.
(And I'm not saying I could do any better or even one tenth as good.)
The lips are a bit too defined. (And to me they look slightly off center, but it could be the shadows.) The dark outlines make them stick out too much and they just don't seem to blend well. Mouths are quite hard to draw, and this is really good, but I think it could be little better. I also see that someone already mentioned the mouth and it might be too low, yes. (Or maybe his nose is too high.)
Oh, and I forgot to mention that the lighting looks really good. It does. (I always forget that there has to be a light source so all shading is random. O_x) Overall, this is a really good realistic portrait.
And if you would please pardon the critique.... (Just trying to help. OuO)

Chibi is soooooo cute!
He's just, he's just, aww, adorable! I really like the shading method on the main pic - I mean, I love clean shading that isn't smudgy like this, but around the eyes and the nose, it REALLY works! The nose is fantastic, by the way. I could learn a thing or two from the shading on that nose.
His mouth is too low, that's probably what's bothering you. But great chin, great eyes, incredible collar on the left! That line of white around the edge of the collar - top notch.
I like the framing and text - so professional looking!

Yeah, the mouth was bothering me ALOT but I finally got it looking kinda like one and didn't want to make it worse =O_o=
I was pretty proud of the shading, concidering I only used my 2b mechanical pencil and a tissue to blend. The scanner really doesn't do it justice, because the shading is kinda delecate in some parts.
