I've used a 6mm black pvc sheet, but I kinda regret using this kind of material.
The figure ended up being too heavy and, because it doesn't have "pores", like a MDF sheet, which is also softer to manipulate.
The tricky thing is to make it stand still with all its weight, without fearing that it might fall down and hurt any of my girls. I keep it in a back room.
