The zippered shirt, low waistline, and tightish pants all scream modern for me.Β World War era is my forte.
Other than that, it look quite good.

thanks, lots of modern influences on her outfit indeed, just some experimenting on what can work for the story, style and her background.

I think she'd be perfect for a post-apocalyptic scenario from her appearance right now.
She has the look of an aviator, is that her background?

good catch on that, she is associated with pilots. Bee is a gunner in a bomber plane for the main storyline of the developing comic. Most the characters in the story are fighter pilots.

Interesting.Β As a note, rifles didn't have pistol grips until the the mid-40's, and even then it was only on assault rifles.Β The pistol, particularly the suppressor is very modern looking.Β Why did you choose the suppressor?

There were some submachinegun designs that came earlier with pistol grips, so the rifle idea is not totally far fetched. I think the German FallschirmjΓ€gergewehr 42 was among the first rifle caliber weapons with pistol grip.

Submachine guns were entirely different in concept and construction.Β The FG 42 was one of the first that was CALLED a rifle, light machine guns had pistol grips long before that.
The thing about all of those is that they are all automatic weapons.Β Bolt action or semi-automatic rifles didn't get pistol grips until later.
I agree that it isn't far fetched, but it does detract from the feel of the era to have a general rifle with a pistol grip.

The gun my character is holding is based off of m1 carbine and it's m1a1 variant (in fact, it looks far too similar to it rather saying it's based off it), too bad the rest of the body of the gun is hidden behind Bee. The m1a1 did have a a grip that was attached to the stock. I am not sure what the service years for the m1a1 was, assuming it was before the m2 came out in the mid 40s?? It could still, technically, work with the pistol grip if I wanted to make a rifle of my own. There's only one way to find if our fiction works out is feedback from general public once the site and early animatics is done in the near future as we all are doing this on the side.
As for the fg42, wouldn't it be between a machine gun and an assault rifle, I would consider it more of an assault rifle than anything else.. although the stg44 did supposedly claim the name first if I remember correctly.

For the suppressor, I wanted to portray her approach in combat with her time in the infantry (long survival back story). I am aware a suppressor may not be an ideal choice for her situation if it's realistic as noise is usually not 100% reduced, but it may conceal the shooter's location. However, I haven't found any reliable information yet on how they have evolved over time since it's first patented.
In our comic and characters, I wasn't aiming for real life nor complete historical accuracy as we (comic buddy and I) decided early on to stray away from basing this on real events, but make it "familiar" out of original designs. This can potentially open up more creative opportunities as well as reduce chances of any personal conflicts anyone may have on historical events.

I know the British special forces at the time had suppressors on carbines, but that's all I know as far as those go.
There is a definite difference between basing a story on history and making something completely up with a certain time-frame in mind.Β At the same time, the closer the small details are to history, not necessarily the events, the more believable a story it is.Β If you're just pulling it out of your head, that's great on the creativity end, but it's much easier to envision it if there are some relatable (apparently that's not a real word) details to it.
That said, from what little I've seen and been told, what you're making looks great.Β What I'm saying is more for a possible next thing you do that isn't as well established.Β Changing things all the time isn't good, that's why none of my storylines have ever succeeded in anything past drawings.

Nice charater...
One technical issue, though: In Real Life, two handed pistol shooting only started catching on in late 1950s, pioneered by Jack Weaver, a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff.

thanks for letting me know~! Although the story is in it's own fictional universe, having knowledge of such facts would definitely benefit in crafting a great fantasy setting with familiar elements for the audiences in the near future.
I checked out your gallery and it's really nice! My character here is actually part of a comic I am working on with some friends and the main timeline of the story is about a team of pilots flying piston engine planes (Bee isn't a pilot, but most other characters are). I'll add your gallery to our list of references

Yep, I didn't want to say that the two-handed stance is wrong, because things are surely different in your imaginary timeline. One-handed shooting has its reasons too. For one thing, it lets you do other things with the other hand.
As for my piston airplanes, I mainly try to make them "feasible" but there are details that might be difficult to do in practice: guns firing through a 5-blade prop, tailwheels on some of the Hestons, and of course, the second engine on Tor Odinsson's airplane. The bubble canopies certainly are not Real Life '30s or early '40s

That's some of the challenges we are going through creating these things is making everything "original" but with familiar attributes from the era in real life. The technology and weapons are one of the biggest obstacles to overcome as there are many details to learn, and what may be acceptable to modify without making it too impractical in terms of functionality or straying too far into modern tech,.
