Description
Hello everyone! Hope you're having a good day! Here I present a Quarter Horse greyscale painted in Photoshop CS5!
PSD file includes greyscale layer, colour layer, mane and tail layers as well as separate colour layers for those, shadow layer, highlight (shininess) layer and background layers!
All you have to do is dump the paint using the bucket tool in the colour layers and set them to soft light and you're good to go! Make sure transparency lock is on for best results :)
Once purchased, you may use however you like - on or off-site for commercial or otherwise. Even Sim games!
however, there are a few rules:
Respect the artist! I would love to continue providing greyscales, so please follow these rules and we'll all get along just fine!

Same struggling some but other than that doing ok. You are still doing gret jobs on your horses I wish I could order one but i'm without a job right now and going threw disability taking forever keep getting denied. Can't work can't even get my truck on the road with no money to pay for insurance or renew my tag. So stuck at home most of the time.

Nope! Once you buy it it's all yours to do with as you please, just short of re-selling as stock Credits in the description here on deviantART would be nice, so other people know where they can get greyscales, but it's not mandatory

Ok sounds great. I will do that. Not planning on reselling. Can you hel me under stand how to color it. I seem to be having problems. I think I do better on gimp than here. But having hard time getting it on gimp. New on that to. I love the horse! Do you have molre?

Gimp should import PSD files, if I remember correctly. Just download the file to your computer (if you haven't already) and then open gimp and under "file" hit "open" and find where you put the file you downloaded, and you should be able to import it into the program.
Then, you'll see a list of layers and there's one called "colour." Make sure the transparency is locked on these layers (There's "Colour," which is the body, "Mane Colour," which is the mane, and "Tail Colour," which is the tail) as these are the layers where you'll be creating the horse's coat colour.
If you'd like, I can whip up a quick tutorial. I work in photoshop, but you can do the same things I do, in gimp. It'll just take a bit longer for you to find the same modules since the layout is different.
I do have one other greyscale so far, but I haven't received feedback from the owner of the stock that was referenced to say if I can or can't sell it. This was almost 5 months ago, so I might just go ahead and put it up for sale. I painted it completely by hand, but it's a spitting image of the stock which is why I haven't put it up yet.
I do plan to make more in the future, though!

That sounds great! I will try it. I am not to experienced yet with gimp but love trying to make great horses. Learning all the gadgets and cheating on you tube to figure things out. lol. Sure I could use the tutorial. I'm sure it could help. I have never done layers either on coloring. Thank you very much. I will practice on it until I get something nice and I will keep you in mind for others as you come up with them. Have a great day!

Youtube is my best friend for learning new programs hahaha
Alright I'll definitely get to work on that, then I'm sure it'll be useful to others, too, who may be discouraged or confused by its layout.
Thank you! You too!
