You're getting a three-for-one special today, because it's my bestie Megan's birthday, and for once in her life she actually told me exactly what she wants! XD That means I can give her exactly what she ordered, thank you for making my life easy this year, b. I know that sounds like I'm taking the piss but it's genuinely refreshing and I'm jumping on the opportunity.
Design notes, uuuuuuuggggghhhh. China, real talk man. I want to get into you, I really do. You're an extremely important cultural center with thousands of years of history just unfairly missing from my understanding of Earth's story. However, you make it incredibly difficult for me to do so. Megan requested a picture of her praying in the courtyard of the Qinglong Temple in Xi'an, an extensive and beautiful landmark with foundations dating back to the 6th century. I could not for the life of me, however, find any fucking reference images of this ancient place that could help me get my bearings in 3d space. Google Earth obviously isn't going to have those 3D map models of anything in China, and the Chinese government is obviously very invested in boycotting anything but their most curated self-image to the West. I get the isolationist angle, I do. I have mad respect for the philosophy of looking out for yourself and your family, for there is truly nothing else we have on this planet, but censorship is not the way to do it. I want to get into you, but I can't portray the real you, dirty, honest, and archaeologically, the way I can for other peoples. I can't build a relationship on a fake promotion of grandeur, so I just hope you'll appreciate my attempt at another foreigner's love for your country's past.
