The Jacobite Samurai — Description

Part two of my friend's birthday gift, I tricked her persona out with a fancy armor set! This was a much bigger pain in the ass to blend elements together, but I think I eventually lassoed it in. My friend is originally from Scotland, but she's living in Japan for university… and she's a total weeb XD So I knew from the outset I wanted to design some kind of Scottish samurai. I looked at Scottish military uniforms and Japanese riot gear for the main chunk of inspiration, though the Scottish bits ultimately kinda got relegated to bits and baubles like the tassels and belt… and of course the big 18th century kilt lol. That neck wrap is actually inspired by the samurai armor gifted to King James I, which I thought would be a fun historical nod. Is there room for improvement? Sure, but she was happy with the end result and that's all that really matters. And she didn't get on my ass about the sword this time XD Which is good, because that thing was a pain in the ass to design. I love gun-blades, in case you couldn't tell by this point, but they're easier to implement into polearms than swords. I ended up taking more inspiration from anime than historical weapons, though the handle and barrel was inspired by Japanese tanegashimas. It's a little messy, but still pretty slick, and again my friend was happy with it, so I'm happy too. Happy birthday buddy!
