Red Revisited — Description

It's my buddy Red's birthday today! Happy birthday you crazy animal! Ur still a bitch.
You may remember I drew a sheet for her last year and wasn't entirely happy with the composition, so as I promised then, I'm taking another crack at it! I'm much happier with this version. My main problem with the previous sheet was how all the different elements were kind of fighting one another for space, so condensation was the theme of this experiment. I kept the bulk of the dress the same, but merged the saree into it as one piece. That's easier said than done because sarees already have a really awkward way of wrapping around the head and body, but I think I worked it out by angling it more in the direction of a hijab. The skirt meanwhile was in desperate need of simplification, so instead of going for Edwardian librarian, I took inspiration from late Victorian gowns. Is it still kinda loud? Yes, but I feel like this type of loud would elicit much more “wow I love your outfit!” than “bruh what are you wearing” if you strutted down the street in this like you owned the joint. I also streamlined the katar significantly, because I was thinking way too hard about the ergonomics of the triggers last time and forgot that sometimes the rule of cool just needs room to breathe. Now Red is fully equipped to kick my ass for all the indignation I have brought upon her. I accept my fate.
