Description

It's my friend Fen's birthday tomorrow! Happy birthday sweetie! All our other friends have outgrown calling me Mom, but not you, and I want to make sure you know that's reciprocated. Whenever I have to think about serious stuff like next of kin, my first gut instinct is “well obviously my stuff goes to my kid Fen”. I watched you grow up, graduate, and shape into a bright young adult. Now you're even picking me up when I fall. Mama's proud of you honey. I swear I'm not just saying that because I'm on my monthly and everyone else in the universe really needs to die rn ;u;

Everyone please go hit Fen up on their KoFi and give my baby money in exchange for art. They're a wonderfully talented artist who's done work for D&D books before and an assortment of other projects in their portfolio. You will not be disappointed.

Design notes, technically Fen already had a sheet, but it's old, crusty, and in desperate need of an update, just like ol Ma. Luckily I'm still pretty attached to the design so I didn't have to change much. In case it wasn't obvious, Fen is my friend from the Anishinaabe tribe, the one I always bring up as my consultant when discussing Native American characters and history. They are not Canadian, they are Nish, that's a value they've made clear to me and it's a value I wanna make clear to everybody else. In that vein, this design was very much an indigenous coating topped onto a stereotypical outdoorsman-y sort of get up. In direct contrast to their prim and proper indoorsy mom, Fen is a little forest gremlin, hence why I also gave them a haircut echoing Link from the Legend of Zelda, their favorite series. Now please honey, just don't break mommy's pots with that overdesigned monkey wrench-
