Mabsutah Reference — Description
Pleh, I have like... a ton more I wanted to add to this but I've already taken way too long on this so just gonna toss it up now as is, and may go back and add in a few details and notations later. Would like to include in the future some better shots of his face and scar, altered slightly but the original concept headshots of him will suffice for now. Also his pet vulture and crossbow yeeeah.

ANYWAY. Aaas you can see I altered Mabsutah's design slightly. The gemsbok markings were giving me hell and just not looking right when tried to give them the clean edges that tattoos would have, aaand I didn't want to make them bodypaint or similar. Fussed and fussed and fussed and finally FLIPPED A TABLE and say "screw it, let's do something else!"

So. Something else. General Maori meets Egyptian theme, I guess? Scarabs are a central part, may tie into his background and the relationship of the Sandfury with the Aqir, WOULDN'T YOU LIKE TO KNOW. More on that coming later. May not show up well when resized but they're dark/desaturated indigo at his face, almost black, and spread into a lighter, richer gradient of blue as they move down his body.

He was originally gonna have pistols, but I kinda liked the idea of crossbow better, so those holsters are now for holding water, baby chickens, lemondrops, etc. I guess 8|
