Cover I did for my story a couple months ago... I guess it was a learning process?? I had everyone on separate layers so I could move them, but that completely interrupted /interfered with my normal painting method (of zooming out and working on the whole canvas at once), so then I became unsure about the color palette and whether I really wanted to add any more detail. (short answer=nope. xD) Definitely would do it differently next time, but maybe there's no good way. I tried to keep track of time, but at some point I lost it... I'm guessing it was somewhere around 20, give or take five hours??SO MUCH LESS TIME THAN I HAVE WORKED ON THIS STORY GLBJLDFDKLJF

yes, recruiting an evil Red Wizard (the natural enemy of two Harpers and two Rashemi xD) into my goody-goody party was quite the challenge; I actually took incredible pains to make sure it happened in a realistic/believable way (hint: not everyone is very happy about it)... if you are curious you can read it here --Edwin shows up in chapter 8 and then they meet up with him again in chapter 17; he joins after that...

but thank you!! I am trying to apply a certain amount of seriousness to my work now instead of just mindlessly doing it for fun, so it is exciting to see how much I can improve when I am really trying (although I still get bored and quit once they get to a certain point, aghhhaha >_>; ).

Oooh, everyone looks nice! I also think Edwin might have gotten a good shot at Dynaheir because he's looking pretty snug while she looks sort of pissed off. ALSO GOOD ON YOU NOT USING THE PARTY LIMIT ON THIS. I've been wondering if I should do the game limit in my story or not, but come on where's the fun in not allowing yourself to have ALL the party? (ok... maybe not all...)

Anahit's party is going to be the insane and horribly cheerful, so I'm not really using all the party members. B-but there are so many interesting ones in BG2!

UGH it is SO HARD TO WRITE A GROUP SCENE WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE!! Almost as hard as it is to keep manufacturing reasons to separate them here and there so they can have individual conversations! I can see why they enforce a party limit, lol. But it kept me from including any other party members, so I had to come up with a reason for them to send Viconia away, since eight would just be ridiculous.
and what's this cone-thing you speak of, lol?? as far as I recall, Bodhi just had some weird, wispy hair.

If I had the power I would take all 20 of 'em with me. EPIC ADVENTURE!!! JK. I wouldn't be able to handle them all probably would just end up crying on Edwin's shoulder. Well, you can always cross out Minsc where intelligent conversation is required like I did. The whole writing part become easier, yay!
I dunno, in the end I just gave her classic short hair. It really suits her! I'm just doodling how minor characters from the story would look like... *sheepish*

Well if you ever get time in the future... you can get soz really cheap these days. I am playing it now, well, in the bits of time between other things anyway. I never played the original though so I can't really comment on how it stacks up. I am using your portraits for the characters!

I have Verelgar, my own human mage, then I got Edwin (you CAN'T go without him), Kargain the dwarf as tank, Branwen and Viconia as healers and support and sweet Imoen as our thief.

that sounds like a great party! and no, you really can't go anywhere without Edwin. x) ((I picked him up after doing Dynaheir's quest last time-- but the game didn't recognize it-- so after I had been playing awhile, he got mad and left since I wouldn't go after her (SHE WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE); I was so devastated *RELOAD*))

Although I have to admit, I like what you did with him in your drawing. That he's shadowry in the background is a rather nice throwback to his... shall we call it rare, yet menacing appearances throughout the game?

You know, in the really old, buggy game, I managed to promise both Minsc and Edwin to help them do their quests concurrently. When I arrived in the Gnoll Stronghold, I then used Minsc to slay Dynaheir on the spot before she joined me party. Edwin was pleased, and Minsc said absolutely nothing. Dumb brute
And you're right, Saverock is great, especially in Throne of Bhaal, and the helm does look pretty... out of place
