Okay, it's 1 am and I have to get up in a couple of hours for work so I'm slapping this up here and calling it done. I've had the flat colors done for this for about a year now and I figured I better do something with it. Once again, the background was thrown in as an after-thought and wasn't pre-planned. I ended up basing it off of Charley's apartment above the garage, which is an odd combination of blue cement colors and wood. If I wasn't so tired I probably would have played around with the color balance a little more to make it feel a little more harmonious, but I'm gonna try to get into the habit of doing character drawings with environment anticipated and planned for. I used my typical mixture of gradient and soft light layer shading, but also did some grayscale value shading which I plan on trying to play around more with in the future.
Anyway, more hopeless romantic stuff for all the other VinniexCharley crazed fans out there. Ever since writer/producer/director Tom T. told us they 'eventually do it' XD speculation has run wild as to the where's and when's and how's. I've got plenty of my own little scenarios mapped out on paper

*zomigod I just realized that when I flattened down all the layers, I accidently deleted the one with the highlights in his eye. XD agh agh agh too tired to fix it now, will switch it out later XD Fixed

So, what's the backstory here? What led to this outcome? Did Vinnie finally decide to step-up things and ask Charley out on an actual date, instead of just flirting with her?

He said it on an old now defunct chat/message board well over a decade ago ( ikr? Some of the most beautiful words to ever fill the ears of us fangirls xD ). If you search through my old journals I gathered up all of those old sources where he spoke on this and other interesting BMFM facts.
Myself and another diehard VinniexCharley shipper have also talked to him in person a few times, and he confirmed a big reason why there was so little of of Vinnie and Charley's relationship in the 2006 series was because Criterion and the censors made 'toning down their relationship' a requirement for the new series. HATERZ!
In my recent conversations with Tom, there was a planned animated film a few years ago, but sadly, he and his studio lost the funding. Apparently the rights have been sold to a Live Action movie, but even he doesn't know much about it and will sadly, have no creative input on it as far as the last time we spoke. I've tried to help him by digging up more information, but it's been difficult to find anything other than false starts and rumors.

Hey, the original series took place in the 90s... So the 2006 series took place in the next century XD
After Harley realized that even brainwashing Vinnie wasn't going to work and it was time to move on, I'll bet Vinnie and Charley moved into a nice cave somewhere on Mars.
Actually, I read this depressing as hell oneshot someone wrote of an old, great-grandpa Vinnie in a rocking chair- Throttle and Modo had passed away years before, and his wife Charley had passed away, and he was waiting around for years to finally join them. He reminisces and quietly passes away, and on the other side they're all waiting for him, young and ready to ride off together into eternity.

It is a mystery! I've had DA do really weird things to me like that before, too, where I swear even entire comments I once posted completely disappeared or something and it's not like they were marked as spam or the page owner hid them or something. The other day DA blocked me 3 times from replying to comments people left me on my work thinking I was a bot spamming comments on my own page XD
Anyway- thanks so much! It's a real honor to hear this might be your favorite VinniexCharley fanart! And don't worry, the hamster wheel in my head is always turning trying to come up with more ideas for good, romantic and steamy Charvinnie pics. I have lots of little sketches- it's just a matter of which ones are working and fleshing those ones out into full pieces.

Yeah, DA can get really wonky from time to time for good reason or other. Sometimes when I see stacked messages in my message center for a deviation or something, everyone will have the same icon XD
And that's gotta frustrating to have journal entries disappear- especially if there are comments in there that might be of some importance.
