Description
"Over here Ma!" "You are quite late young one. This is getting to be a habit that must end. I have been waiting for you at the cave for over an hour. What have you to say for..." Thadris stopped in her tracks the moment she saw where Troi was. She stared unamused at her son, whose head stuck up out of the frozen pond. He grinned sheepishly as his tail slapped the underside of the ice with several dull thuds. Thadris could only assume that this must have taken much patience on Troi's part. Waiting for the water around him to refreeze and harden until he was anchored within the ice. The white dragon laid down around him and sighed. "What have you done now?" The little black dragon did his best to look up at his mother, but his horns limited how far he could move his head. "I'm up-thide-down!" he exclaimed gleefully. "You're also quite foolish. Did you have any consideration for how you would get back out of there?" Troi's ears dropped with this new realization, flattening the tufts of fur around them against the ice. "I wathn't thinking of that. Ma, I think I'm th-tuck. Can you help?" Troi squeezed his eyes shut and flinched as his mother brought her paw down hard against the ice in front of him. He felt the ice begin to give way as his body floated up through the shattered fragments. The black dragon then dug at the ice around his neck until he could break free. Now that he could move again, Troi rolled upright and dragged himself out of the water. After shaking himself dry, the young wind dragon gave Thadris the most apologetic expression he could. "You would be wise to never try that again." she lectured, "You could never get out of that pond yourself no matter what you did. What if something happened to me while you were here? You'd be in that pond until spring. Do you think you could survive on your own while frozen in place and unable to hunt for yourself?"
