Oh my, thank you very much!
I never would have thought this six word story was worth a feature, but I am very thankful for the honor.

I do know what you mean, there. I guess.. somewhat objectively, it's kind of sad that we depend on something like this in a pretty intense way, and yet... I don't know. Sometimes it feels as if I'm justifying myself when I'm on here and such.
I like the way you've described it and I think it's quite cool how you've got a bit of alliteration going on there. The title is pretty reprimanding, and the piece itself somewhat bittersweet.
Poignant stuff.

I certainly do understand your ambivalence toward the extent to which we depend on a single machine for so much of our lives, especially such a modern invention. Yet I feel that recognizing just how different our lives would be without it makes it something to be grateful for, at least for the most part. In my case that's rather easy to do, as my family didn't have a computer for quite some time when I was growing up, and for some time after we did get one we didn't have Internet access.
I thank you for your comments and simply for appreciating this story.

Oh, definitely.. one should never take it for granted. =/
Ah, that's interesting... how old were you when you first had a computer? And when you had internet?
I have to say that I was pretty old as well, although I'm not too sure about the timing of things, as the years blur past. I think I was 12 or so when my family bought a computer, and then I was on the internet by 13, but I didn't fully understand.

It's very unclear to me as well for some reason, especially because at one point we had this word processing pseudo-computer and then an extremely old computer before getting a regular modern one. I'm going to guess that I was about 12 or 13 when we got the first machine and 15 or 16 when we first got the Internet at home (but more likely 15).
Thank you for asking and for telling me that it was similar for you; I remember feeling like my family was really behind the times when I was younger.

Oh right, yes, I see.
I think we just had the one family computer ourselves, and then I got the laptop I'm typing this on now.
Still, 15 is a good an age as any to discover the internet. When I discovered the internet when I was 13, I didn't know what the heck I was doing and I didn't quite grasp the meaning, if you get what I mean?
Ha. Well, you're all caught up now, no?

Yes, I understand what you mean. And yes, we're quite caught up now, what with the broadband connection, a webcam, a wireless router and even an external hard drive for extra data storage.
Except my laptop just crashed and burned a few weeks ago.
But that's not such a big deal in the long run.

Ha. Likewise!
It goes to show that we have to move fast to catch up or we're going to be choking on the dust left behind.

I'm grateful that my mother at least is far more gentle about it.
Thank you for the fave, by the way.

You know, there was a time when iPhones, iPads and such seemed like such an unnecessary luxury to me; I used to ask who would have any need to have Internet access anywhere at anytime. Ultimately they are still luxuries, but it's at times like this when I wish I had one.
Thanks for the fave, by the way.
