Description
From the game Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, The Movement is a Terrorist Organization led by General William Kreiger (also known as 'The General').Origins
Krieger originally ran Mindgate, the secret side-arm of the U.S Military that specialized in studying psi powers (such as telepathy, telekinesis, etc.) and training those with them to become even more powerful. The General was selected to run Mindgate due to his remarkable military record, despite having no Psi powers himself. As Krieger learned more about the human mind and what truly unlimited potential it held, he began to hunger for the chance to unlock its full power for himself, and find a way to give himself the ability to use Psi powers.
His actions took him farther and farther from Mindgate's original mission and parameters, aided by Mindgate Agent and Instructor Edgar Barrett - a master of Telekinesis who had become disillusioned with Mindgate and its cooperation with the United Nations, having had enough of working for an agency that took orders from "humans" who treated the Psi Agents like freaks.
However, one of Mindgate's other members - Nick Scryer (One of Mindgate's best agents who Barrett had taught a variety of Psi powers) - opposed the General's plans, with Krieger eventually faced with charges for overstepping his authority. Krieger left Mindgate and the US military, and went into hiding for a time along with Barrett and Mindgate Agent's Nicolas Wrightson (a Master of Remote Viewing and Aura Viewing) and Tonya Blake (who had the power of Telepathy).
Outside of Mindgate, Krieger began putting together his plan together. Recruiting other Elite Psi agents, Krieger formed The Movement. The Movement's apparent plan was to gain the pieces on an ancient artifact called The Monolith, said to contain god-like Psi powers, and then split the power evenly between Krieger and each of the Elites, who would then dominate the world and be worshipped as Gods. The Elites included:
1. Edgar Barrett - Master of Telekinesis and the General's enforcer and top lieutenant.
2. Wei Lu - A Chinese woman who was trained as an Intelligence agent. She is a Master of Illusion.
3. Marlena Kessler - A German woman trained on the Soviet Psi-Ops program. She is a Master of Pyrokinesis.
4. Nicolas Wrightson - Another Mindgate operative who was a Master Spy. He is a Master of Remote Viewing and Aura Viewing.
5. Jov Leonov - A blind Mongolian turned Soviet Spy. He is a Master of Mind Control and the director of the 'Meat Puppet' Program.
In order to aid his mission, The General orders Leonov to create the 'Meat Puppet Program' - a program that brainwashes people and turns them into mind-controlled soldiers for the movement (although it is also shown that previously dead soldiers could be made into Meat Puppets as well). Using scientists (labcoats) and construction workers to aid him, Krieger and his Psi Agents began multiple attacks on Mindgate, abducting soldiers to be made into Meat Puppets and stealing ancient technology from Mindgate that would be needed to late create the Monolith.
Mindgate's Retaliation
In order to combat the new threat posed by the Movement, Mindgate Agent Sara Blake - Tonya Blake's twin sister - joined the Movement to keep an eye on the General as well as to try and find her sister. Meanwhile, Mindgate utilised the second part of the plan as they organized a mission to get Nick Scryer into The Movement. They wiped his memory, altered his face and made him think he was an anti-terrorist soldier. When the Movement attacked, Nick was captured as planned.
Inside the Movement, Sara freed Nick from imprisonment and gave him both a silenced pistol and a drug that caused Nick to start to recover his memories - including how to use his Psi-Powers.
Working together, Sara gave Nick three bombs to set in the Movement facility. After doing so, Nick confronted Jov Leonov in a battle against him and several Meat Puppets. Jov nearly killed Scryer, but was killed himself after one of the bombs near him went off. With Sara's help, Nick escaped the facility in a helicopter before its destruction.
Flying to another Movement base on the Black Sea, Nick discovered Mindgate had been all but wiped out. Managing to get into Edgar Barrett's office, he met Sara inside - with her giving him Luna-1 (the central piece of the Monolith). Later, however, Tonya (pretending to be Sara) retrieves Luna-1 from Nick before giving it back to Barrett. Nick and Barrett confront each other as Barrett tries to get Nick to join the Movement. Nick refuses, however, and battles Barret - both using their telekinetic power. Barrett eventually abandons the fight but leaves the offer for Nick to join the Movement open. Manning the helicopter him and Sara came in, Nick pursues Barrett to another base in Hong Kong.
After receiving information from a woman called Kimiko Jones - a reluctant Movement member who had begun to realize the threat the General and his plans are to the world - who directs Nick to a building hidden by the Illusion powers of Wei Lu. Directing him through the base, Nick manages to work his way through an illusion maze and reach Wei Lu. After several short battles, he finally kills her. Heading to the other side of the building, Nick encounters Sarah again, who aids him despite his distrust in her following her apparent betrayal.
Eventually, Nick locates the General as well as Marlena Kessler before pursuing them. When he finds them both again, he watches as Marlena uses her pyrokinesis to power a fusion machine - which fuses Luna 1 with the other components to make the Monolith. As the General leaves with the Monolith, Nick battles Marlena in the overloading fusion machine before fighting her one-on-one, managing to kill her. Forced to flee the building due to the overloading fusion reactor core, Nick flies onward to the General's base in the Himalayas while Kimiko sacrifices herself to save Hong Kong from been annihilated.
In the Movement's Temple Base in the Himalayas, Nick encounters Nicolas Wrightson, who has entered RV semi-permanent and is on a life support machine to keep his withered body alive.
Nick battles his way through the temple to find Sarah, who has been captured, while fighting Wrightson's pets - the monstrous Aura Beasts. Briefly hampered by Wrightson's attempt to take Nick over, both Nick and Sara escape before working together to clear the Aura Beasts infesting a vital set of stairs before proceeding farther in the temple.
While talking to Sarah, the pair are interrupted by Tonya - who reveals she killed her and Sarah's parents so that Mindgate would allow them to realize their true powers. Wrightson takes over Sarah's body and follows Tonya away, pursed by Nick.
His search leads him to find Wrightson's body- still alive and able to speak- soon afterwards. The two argue about The General and his plans, and while both have decided to stop him, neither is willing to cooperate with the other: Nick is hostile to all the Movement's goals, while Wrightson merely envies The General and wants the Monolith's power for himself. After a battle with Wrightson, in which Nick is attacked by both energy weapons and Aura Beasts, Nick irreparably damages the cloaking device that hides Wrightson from them and convince them to take his orders. The beasts abruptly turn on him, causing Wrightson, helpless in his feeble human body, to scream frantically. Suddenly, in a blast of blinding, colorful light, Wrightson begins to escape- or is forced into- an alternate dimension. Pleased at this final discovery, he exclaims, "I can see the other side! It's beautiful!" He then vanishes into that dimension, along with most of the Aura Beasts.
Final Showdown
With Wrightson gone, Sarah and Nick split up - Sarah goes to find Tonya while Nick continues his pursuit of the General. Descending deeper into a more alien-like facility, Nick again confronts Barrett over his actions.
Barrett becomes furious when Nick accuses him of betraying the free world Mindgate fought for, retorting that the "free world" Nick refers to was only meant for ordinary humans, who despite accepting the aid of those wielding Psi powers, viewed them with distrust and suspicion. Barrett shouts, "They USED us! Used us for their own ends and discarded us when we became a problem! Or have you forgotten THAT as well?"
Nick, now having recovered all his memories, responds with a different story- Nick fought the General's plans while all three men were in Mindgate, and at the same time actively opposed Barrett's hunger for power and ruling the psi elite. Ending the confrontation, Barrett declares, "The General and I are going to acquire the ultimate power! No one can stop us! Soon all the world will worship us as gods!"
Nick follows him to the central chamber, but is approached by Tonya - attempting to use Nick's confusion as a chance to kill him. Sarah has followed her sister into the chamber, however, and shoots Tonya in the head with a pistol. As Tonya falls back into a deep shaft behind her, Sarah coldly remarks, "Mom always did like me best, bitch."
Barrett hits Nick and Sarah with a telekinetic hit which knocks Sarah unconscious. Nick then watches as Barrett uses a TK amplifying machine to move the Moon into the needed position for the monolith to regain its full power. The process leaves him exhausted, however, so he is too slow to respond when The General aims a pistol at his head. Remarking that "true power is not meant to be shared", The General shoots Barrett and kills him, revealing that he had never once intended to share the Monolith's power with Barrett - having just used him and indeed all the other Psi Agents, Meat Puppets and others for his own ends - with The Movement just been a facade in the General's pursuit of ultimate power.
Using the Monolith and the alien-looking Machine, Krieger starts the assilation process to give him God-Like Psi powers.
Nick, managing to steal some measure of the Monolith's power from The General during the assimilation process, battles him in the cavernous alien chamber. Something goes wrong for Krieger during the battle, and a black hole or portal of some kind opens up, swallowing Krieger. Screaming "No!" and trying in vain to escape, Krieger looks at Nick and yells, "SCRYER!" before vanishing.
