I don’t really know when it happened. It was like one minute I was going through life, just going through the motions of survival, when suddenly, it happened. It came out of nowhere- like those thunderstorms that pop up on the worst of days and fuck everything up.
Falling in love is not as great as they make it out to be in movies and books. You have to go through a lot of bullshit to fall in love. And when I say a lot, I mean a lot. Honestly, it fucking sucks. Never fall in love.

But… it was like I saw him, right? I was him on that gross winter day, in the middle of freaking January. A bunch of us were all standing outside for some school assembly thing, and I saw him standing there, in our boring school uniform, laughing at some joke, and I just wanted to be near and him and get to know him, and when he smiled it was like everything was right with the world.

Even on that gross, snowy day, he was the sunlight I’d been looking for quite some time. At the time, I never knew he’d mean so much to me. I mean, I’d stopped getting my hopes up a long time before that. But there was something about him that drew me in and I felt like I needed to know him.

It’s called falling for a reason. You put your hopes in someone, but while you’re falling, someone has to do the catching. And suddenly that person holds you and all the happiness in the world.

Being in love is amazing.

Falling in love? Not so much.
