The next morning is rather uneventful for Arisu and Lucy. The fleet members are allowed one day off in a ten day cycle and another day devoted to research.

"There's something definately wrong with the wings Risa." Lucy says. She wearing the standard fleet dress and her sybios endo/exo shell (SEES) has been extracted out of her body. The process takes about twenty minutes and allows technicians to work on those cybernetic parts that are made of small liquid metal nanobots. The nanobots interact with the cybernetic skeleton and the air and depending on the amount of energy stored they can take on a great many shapes, normally customized by the individual user. The 'wings' main purpose is drawing ambient energy to maintain these contructs. They normally deploy first until the user has what gear/equipment they want and once they've asorbed enough energy the nanobots contruct the exoskeleton around the user. One of the reasons they are called Cyberangels is the appearance of these wings when they 'power up'.

"I think you've overloaded the energy cells." Arisu says calmly "Remember your last mission? You were going from form to form in seconds. I think there's a high concentration of Nerg energy in that area...."

"Well they've been looking for a new place to set up a listening post, it's the perfect location and if the Nergs are really saturating the place and Angel there can go serious booster."

"Exactly. You know Kay, with the way you act I forget that you do have a pretty sharp mind."

"Pretty sharp? Risa, our Education Credits are only seperated by 5/10ths..."

"That was years ago and apply the hell out of my 5/10ths more daily...can you say the same?"

Before she can finish a general message goes over the PA systerm.

"All fleet personal get to the nearest viewing station."

"On the holoscreen?" Arisu says to Lucy as she watches her cousin quickly type on the counsel and the schematics of her SEES fades away and appearing on it is a Moluvoid.

The image is then replaced with an alien face.

"Humans" it starts off "I, on behalf of my race would like to thank you. For many years the beings you refer to Moluvoids have threatned the peace in the universe and you are the first race that we have brought here, to not only defend yourselves but also strike back at them. You are the first race to enter phase two of our experiment. To the Femsu you have done better than most but working with the humans you have proven yourselves to be formidable as well. The following broadcast it to tell you some insight as to why you are here.

Thousands of years ago our race was at war with one another yet we were so evenly match that one side decided a new element needed to be introduced into their war.

The Moluvoids were created in labs as the ultimate disposable troops. The purpose behind them was to drop them into an enemy camp and they would either kill or be killed either way disrupting forces until more convential forces could easily win or winning the fight for them. A chemical spray was developed that would be sprayed over the areas the Moluvoids had taken that would kill them in days making the area safe for occupation.

As the forces went deeper into enemy territory, a new type was developed. One with an insatiable desire to breed once humanoid females were present. They would breed and within days new Moluvoids would be born creating a self sustaining force. Once the objective was taken the spray would kill them off and this process was used until one side became victorious.

Yet an X factor was introduced and not all of the Moluvoids died and higher concentrations of the spray were used. It would take the Moluvoids longer to die and some of them were able to breed. Some of the newborn died at birth, other developed an immunity to the spray. Two hundred years later we left our homeworld and settled elsewhere without the fear of Moluvoids.

Centuries later we found them as we started to explore the universe around us. Our race had long since abandoned war, in fact we have been engineered to become sick when we begin to get violent, so we needed others to fight for us. The last two centuries we have been conducting this experiment with the goal of finding out what race could eliminate this threat from the universe. The planet you reside on is in a black hole deep within Moluvoid space and Phase One involved Moluvoids prime. They are the thinkers of this race. You are about to enter phase two when the Moluvoids Alpha will be introduced. They aren't as technologically advanced as the Prime cousins and used bio organics developed by the Primes much in the same way you use cybernetics. If your race can survive the next Terran year we will release you and give you access to some our technology. If your race doesn't survive on this planet, know that in the next 90 of your years the Moluvoids will reach your solar system and even if your race does win the war, the price in human life will be high. You all do this not only for our sake, but the sake of your race as well and quite possibly the known universe. End Transmission."

Lucy and Arisu are quiet for a moment until Lucy breaks the silence saying "We're a fucking experiment."

"Yes and no, but this just went to our survival to the entire human race's survival." Arisu replies

The Comm system interupts them. "All fleet personell, we have further data on these Alpha type that we are still sorting through. All hands tomorrow morning in the main meeting room. Patrol shifts will be halved while the brief is on going. All Section Leaders report to the Command deck for further word."
