Description This place is called 'The Caban' and it was a place where the quarrymen used to come and have their breaks. Maybe have a mug of tea, something to eat or just to talk amongst themselves. The quarry was abandoned suddenly in 1969 so the quarrymens coats and boots are still to be seen in the cabin today. It is testament to the respect people still have for their hard work that these items are never stolen or tampered with.

Thanks for the fave on this picture. It is eerie. I went there once and the wind was whistling through the windows and it added to atmosphere, it was brilliant.

Wow. Nobody loots the stuff? Is there no governmental protection of the sight? By the way, the photo is pretty cool. I like the natural lighting you used to illuminate the room.

Thanks very much! As far as i know, it's not a protected site and people are free to roam around the site at their own risk because although there are fences and warning signs all over there is no official ban on people doing whatever they want there. The people who go there are very respectful of the place because these are the people who are interested in the history of the place or are climbers so they would have no desire to destroy what is left there. It's surprising i know but that's what happens. However, there are bound to be some idiots who go up there for making trouble because it's quite remote but i have never seen any evidence of this.
