Yay! Is this becoming a official Group?

I don't get you what you mean by official group. oh, please pardon me, I have not been in DA for sometime, maybe you can update me.

It's the new platform DA has for clubs - [link]
If you search help with the keyword "groups" you'll find a lot more information about it. I converted #BioMarina to a group and so far it works really well. You can make folders for different categories and it's very customizable.

Thanks for adding me.
I'll be kind of busy this month, so I might not be actively involved for the duration of this month.

Well, thanks for replying, in fact, I'm leaving the city, and my work today itself, within 4 hours, to participate in this NASA tournament Semi-final in this city halfway across India.
I'll be back soon though, and then I'll start working on a deviation which might be worhty of making it's way onto this page.

It's a space settlement design competition.
[Asian finals]
I'm back now though.

Of course not, I just finished designing one for the NASA tournament. It's highly feasible.... but expensive....

yohoo! i have posted a thread in our internal science forum. Feel free to discuss it.
What's more, Noura has posted her thread in our science general forum, the first place where we met. Feel free to share with her your interests and thoughts.

Hey!.. so sorry been out of touch for some time.. I am soo into this quantum physics thing but i really don't know where to start from.. i am not a physicist, scientist or anything but matters of 'existence' really interest me.. would love to know more stuff on superstriongs, quantum stuff, big bang and a lot more.. even it's relation to philosophy and not just science.. or maybe having everyone's own personal view is just simply enough.. whatever it is.. let's get into this pronto!

hey me too, i am an amateur, but not a scientist or even a science student. However, i am revising and reading up on physics currently and hope can take a degree course in physics next year. Hey i have one question that i can't solve for i can't get the ans, hmm..i will post it up in the forum later.

Noura In reply to funstarpang [2005-10-08 07:16:21 +0000 UTC]
yeah i am not a science student or anything either, in fact i dropped science last year of school many manyyears ago.. i am a lot into the Γ§reative' aspect of it and not the technical,.. would love to know more here on it in that sense ...will be waiting for your forum

funstarpang In reply to Noura [2005-10-12 15:57:25 +0000 UTC]
i see. the creative aspect of science, you mean inventions? or like using science to perform magic tricks? In fact, i love the fact that science is always being used to perform magic tricks, i feel that it is so fascinating and cool. for me, I last studied science five years ago, and i went into business course, which i ultimately regret. now i intend to make a U-turn and recently trying to pick up my lost science knowledge as much as possible.
π: 0 β©: 1
Noura In reply to funstarpang [2005-10-16 08:47:50 +0000 UTC]
it's more into the aspect of inventions rather than discovery.. magic tricks are interestiong but i'm not so into that as much as invention... also what i mean by creative as in.. the aspect where you have to visualize, put possibilities mentally, probabilities ,, etc.. than work things out with math..although i am starting to like math (they never knew how to make us like it in school so i used to hate it..was never good at it).
invention interest me more than only theoratical stuff...for example.. in quantum physics, you can be creative/imaginary by thinking like: if an atom has this and then.. then this might lead to..blah blah which will happen to be this and that but if it does not have blah blah...
u see what i mean? i hope i am making sense... I am as well making a U-turn and try to pick up any lost science science knowledge

funstarpang In reply to Noura [2005-11-02 03:47:14 +0000 UTC]
yeah, i understand what you mean, i like the experimental part as well as the mathematical part whether maths eqns are used to explain those phenomena. that's so cool! I like those inventions too, what kinds of inventions? you mean those inventions of gadgets? i like inventions of gadgets, new theories, eqns all these sorts. you intend to go into science career in the future?
π: 0 β©: 1
Noura In reply to funstarpang [2005-11-21 14:00:59 +0000 UTC]
yes i love the inventions of gadget.. anything related to inventions and creativity in general be it art or science.. but science is a challenge for me as i am not that good due to my not-knowing much about so many thing coz i didn't study or major in it. I love experimental parts of science as well and especially the part where u use your imagination like for example.. without imagination no one would have know or got anywhere about atoms and the fields around them,etc.. (u know what i mean) as in.. you have to imagine or let's say Γ€ssume"that an atom has one neutron or proton so what will the consequence be if.. blah blah.. this is all part of imaginations and being creative in my opinion. Coming up with a new theory is another invention, etc.. that onterests me.. i like knowing other people's own philosophy..
as for your question, no i don't intend to go into science career but would just LOVE to if i have a chance.. i just feel i am way behind and have got a looonngg way to go.. wish i could take it as a career.. it is in my work though.. my paintings..but hardly people notice it or think it shows.. depends how each individual sees it

funstarpang In reply to Noura [2005-11-23 07:13:31 +0000 UTC]
i see. But i am also quite far behind in science too, remember i have wasted three years to study Business Finance, something that i have no interests in. Hence now, i have to puck up and get back all my science knowledge esp physics and maths. yeah, imagination is an essential in science, this is the first stage of forming a hypothesis. it gives u direction on how to go into investigation.
π: 0 β©: 1
Noura In reply to funstarpang [2005-11-24 05:43:58 +0000 UTC]
yes exactly!
why did u go for business finance since it isn't ur interest?
i've done visual communication but never thought would one day i'ld love science that much
