I am not really sure how to reply properly, but i'll give it a try  

Usually i saw you on the forum, while I was lurking, with a picture of Homer Simpson saying the folloing quote: "All my life i've been an obese man trapped inside an obese body"  Then i saw this profile on DragonikHelix's page.  That's pretty much how i got here.
I've been wondering what fractals actually are.

See it's my timing. Either I don't have time or I forget.
 
I don't think I have ability to explain what fractals are exactly. Not only I had break from it, I don't have enough experience from inside to tell. They surely are an art, but the process of them being created is really complex. They way I understand fractals is, that they are a simple lines, shapes, objects self-repeating themselves in various angles and sizes to create unique picture at the end. Every xform can be modified in a way that you want and possibilites are endless. I think the beauty of fractals is that there's a freedom. You don't need to have a fractal imagined to create it - you can experiment on the way of creating and find something really good unique and follow it until end. There's so much variety in "Variations" and how many "xforms" you want to use. It's just amazing.
