Niiice...
I've already been working on ways of incorporating words into my fractal work, as more than just text.
Sounds like a fascinating group, right up my alley!
Add me, please?

*reads guidelines* Ah, OK, that makes sense. So now I have to figure out which poem is good for this week. See if I have any good photos, too.
With the question of negitive space, doesn't that not really matter because within the colab discussion poet and artist can decide to use a border or whatever?

It could. It all depends on what the artists agree upon. When Eternal Love was done the image was only a portion of the overall piece of art so there was negative space created specifically for the poem to be placed in. Either way works, it's just something that will have to be covered when the artists get together for the final piece.

Hello,
I'd love to join. I'm just curious - do I need to post stuff twice? Once in my own gallery, once on here?
I write poetry and take some photgraphy. People are welcome to use either or both for something, and I like the idea of having more art for inspriation, but I don't want to just copy my gallery.
Please ad me, I'd like to see how this develops.

You can either post in both galleries or if you wish to donate art to have in our gallery that is fine also. Either way works just as well for the group.

I'm not really a poet, nor an artist, but I enjoy trying to make something . And this sound like a great initiative and I've love to see what this may end up with

I like this idea, so can artists put their art to my poetry?

You bet. This is a two way street for all types of art. If you see an image in the gallery that you wish to represent your art, get with that person and work the colab. Likewise, if a visual artist reads a poem and wishes to use it to enhance an image, they can contact the writer and colab together. Both sides benefit with more detailed art and better exposure.
As more people join and as we age slightly we will have a larger gallery. Just a few days old right now so we are in the foundation stage at the moment.

With all the journals that people post about being excited to have poetry put on their artwork, it only made sense to bring it all together.

Indeed! I'm assuming that images for this group will not be uploaded into our own galleries, yes?

Images that artists wish to have poetry placed on to help with the theme or to enhance the image will be placed in our gallery. From there writers can go through our gallery and if they like the image they can contact the artist and work out the details of the colab, things like font size/type, placement of writing, rename the image or keep it the same...
Visual artists can also go through the gallery looking for a poem to pick to match an image of theirs. I'm hoping that over time the gallery will grow to cover all types and forms of art so that people will have a tremendous variety to chose from.
If someone wishes to upload the art to their own gallery, that's fine. There might be an instance where an artist wishes to have a piece with a poem and one without. Their call, the last thing we wish to do is dictate how to run their private galleries.
