This might help (if you don't already use it). Also, here are some links to art that might inspire character appearances.

Get ready for another slew of questions, comments and nuisances.

1) How would the Aurora clan react to a cult that commits genocide in the clan's name? I assume they'd equip such groups and use them as pawns. You mentioned in your profile on humans that the Aurora leaders want to erase their past "mistakes", and I feel like they'd use genocidal cults to do most of the dirty work.

2) I have to rant for a bit. Also, there's a story.
I'll admit that plate armor is most likely heavy, but I doubt it's heavier than armor made from interlocking chains. Back in 2007-2008, my 9th grade art teacher was a medieval reenactor. One time he had a maille coat, and this kid called Court Butterfield put it on and tried to jump in it. Court was an athletic guy, but he couldn't even reach the top of the door frame in that heavy coat.

3) I compared the Inner Sea to the Mediterranean Sea because the latter is boxed in between Eurasia and Africa and only connected to the rest of the Atlantic Ocean by the Strait of Gibraltar, and I surmised that the Inner Sea was similar. Your description only reinforces the comparison.

 4) Can you submit the map to this site? I'm really unsure as to where to put the locations.

For the Aurora who split off from the main clan, they would be horrified at what is being done in their name but as for the rest of the Aurora they'd be fine with it and simply work to use them as another weapon or tool to eradicate the humans.

As for chain mail I bet it was heavy. If you consider very basic chain mail and the metals they had to work with there was probably few light and durable metals they could use for the rings, which meant a lot of weight if you wore enough of it. Also depending on how reinforced it was and how the rings interlocked which could add even more weight. Still plate mail was probably worse due to lack of mobility, the fact it was essentially a metal oven and each of those metal plates probably had to be pretty thick to prevent things from cutting through or piercing them leading to a lot of weight when you consider an entire full body suit of the stuff.

Forget honestly what I've wrote of the geography of Tenar besides the Sigrem Creation Myth so unsure how I described the Inner Sea. It is enclosed by the bigger land masses except in a spot West where a chain of land almost connects to the North Continent from the continent where Sigrem is. To the East however there is a large open area where the sea isn't boxed in. My map is very rough and unfinished at the moment. I started editing the one I generated and coloring in things and printed out one to label and sketch names of places and things but never scanned it or transferred the things over to my digital map. I'll need to work on that in the future before I can really post anything.

1) So would the Aurora equip their new "allies" with special weapons to help them get the job done (Greek fire comes to mind), or are they too mistrusting of any humans to do that?

2) Uh, mail or maille is the armor made of interlocking chains. "Plate mail" could either be mail with plates integrated into it or this .

3) I need the map in order to develop my location concepts. I'd make a map myself, but it's your world, and I'm just fleshing it out. Besides,
I don't want to do anything like putting my Painted Desert in the middle of your Smaraggroen Forest. Just leave some empty spaces for my locations, please.

Oh yeah. I think you should check out this guy called Hunterbahamut . You may be able to get a commission or two out of him, and you might like his art style.

They would probably be keen to the idea of the equipping the "thralls" with resources for their raids. More than likely using magic to keep them in line or control them so they won't turn against them. Many of their "thralls" are weak willed or weak minded and can be actually enslaved through mind controlling magic or they are borderline animals due to said manipulations destroying their psyche, like berserk raiders. Due to this they can treat them like savage attack dogs, point them in the direction with weapons and armor, and let them do their thing.

The map... is being worked on. I do have a basic map but it still needs cleaned up and labeled. I have a print out of the uncleaned up version I was using for basic reference to sketch on to start figuring out general locations of major cities and towns and the like but still needs work.

I've almost cleaned up all the little speckles that are supposed to be really small islands but just seem off on a map like this so I am removing them and finish coloring in the oceans, seas, rivers and lakes. After that I can start coloring region based on terrain, adding in keys like mountains, forests, etc and then the transfer over the town, city, and natural landmark names I've already established from my sketch.

How would healing magic work?

RaidDrakewind In reply to MointPan [2018-08-07 02:03:32 +0000 UTC]

Healing Magic around a few of the magic types, namely Null, Blood, and Water. Each magic functions differently and therefore the healing is achieved in a different manner.

With Null it isn't so much you are healing someone as your are reverse the circumstances or the very reality in which the wound ever happened. In a manner it is like very selective time travel where you nullify that someone ever was wounded. Now the event still happened however to that person who was hurt it was as if they were untouched by that event. This method is probably the hardiest to achieve and the most energy consumptive. It also requires a lot of precision since you are messing with selective temporal magic which is dangerous to begin with. The other method is basically the staple of Null magic which is simply remaking reality or imposing you reality over the existing one. You impose you reality in which they aren't wounded and they simply... aren't. Now there are limitations of course such as you can't undo death and the greater the wound the harder it is to unmake. Null is one of the few magics that doesn't need to be balanced but therefore has to be carefully used or it can rip apart reality by breaking the rules that govern reality. All in all Null magic isn't ideal for healing but can work.

Blood in truth is the primary magic to use for healing. It taps into the very essence of life itself which is to say fluid that flows through everything. Plants and animals both have a form of blood though it goes by a different name in plants it works the same way. Blood in a sense is the manipulation of the physical forces within a living organism and therefore can be used to accelerate the regenerative properties of a living thing to heal it faster or even be used to restore something to what the "blueprint" of it's form would be. Say if you lost an arm... well you were born with two arms so your "blueprint" says you should have two arms. With this in mind the Blood Magic can regrow the missing limb and restore the body to it's default state. Now like with all things the more damage that has to be healed to the living creature, the more taxing it is on the user of the magic as well as the recipient of the healing. There is a limit without extra help how much damage to a living creature's body can be restored. This same magic can also be used to purge illness or poisons to a degree from the body. Null can do the same for the last part in the method described above.

Lastly is Water. It isn't as good for healing magic but it is generally used for cleansing and purging toxins and such from a living creature. It can purify the blood inside of a creature or plant to remove poison or illness and can sterilize wounds so they won't become infected. They can't necessarily close a wound but they can remove the bad things that shouldn't be there.

In a pinch other magics can of course be used like Fire could cauterize a wound like more mundane heat would with properly control. Earth could be used to seal up a wound temporarily to stop bleeding or maybe make a cast or splint of an injury. You could use Force magic to stop the movement of blood from a wound to or bind a hurt limb as an also temporary measure also using similar methods with Air magic. All these would however not be ideal and most of these could be achieved by more mundane means without the use of magic.

To simplify it, Blood is good all around healing magic. Null can effectively copy Blood but is draining and harder to work with. Finally Water is primarily used to cleanse and purify wounds to allow them to naturally heal better.

You mentioned reality breaking. Would everything end or would things just be more like this ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RaidDrakewind In reply to MointPan [2018-08-12 01:30:44 +0000 UTC]

Well at first it would start causes actual fractures in reality, essentially cracks in the air where there shouldn't be anything to be cracked as though the air itself was cracked. Then eventually with enough reality breaking it would cause those cracks to open up into full fissures that would lead into The Void. With enough of this the barrier between the world and the void would completely break down and everything would collapse in or itself and unmake reality. The stronger the effect or the more your break the laws of reality the more it would splinter it. It's usually why experienced Null users will create an opposing effect to balance reality in such a way to lessen the stress on it. Like if they increased gravity in one location they'd lessen and equal size location in another place.

So everything would just be terrifying and lethal instead of degenerating into nonsense.

RaidDrakewind In reply to MointPan [2018-08-13 04:54:27 +0000 UTC]

Eventually yeah... until the end of all existence you would be able to freely travel between the normal world and The Void, Septra's domain, which is basically a dimension of chaos and inconsistency. It was the compromise reached by the Torine that the God of Order and Law gets his playground and the Goddess of Chaos and Change gets her playground and each god only lightly interacts with each other's realm. Hence why things don't stagnate and remain constant in the normal world and why things don't fly apart into nonsense in The Void.
