And BTW ... are you still happy dancing over your acquisition of adobe's CS4 series?? I so admire any artist who can achieve proficiency in PhotoShop ... as a film photographer (until a couple years ago when I got my first digital I get frustrated not being able to get PS to just do for me what I could do in a dark room! : (

Oh yeah! I am struggling because they have moved so much stuff. I am not that proficient, still a baby in the 'user' world of PS. Playing with it is the important part. I can't tell you how many pictures i have destroyed before getting close to what i want. Alas i should just buy the book that tells me how to use the program then go from there. But i just am to lazy i guess. There is so much to learn and play with i am just not really sure what effect to explore first!

I'll hired you as my tutor. You could commute from Montana to Chicago. I hate manuals. I usually load up the program and work away until I get stuck then open a book to find to solution. I do pick work with tutorial. Much easier for me to follow than words on a page. I try to do as much as I can in my studio then load up the photo in PS and tweak it. Haven't got into much of the layers, textures or grunge stuff yet. Maybe I just a purist.

LOL Layers are the best protectant of the original piece. Took me forever to learn that. If you don't like what happened turn off the layer or you can delete it. I pick at everything. I can deal with manuals but i don't love them to say the least. I can't photograph worth beans, then again maybe i just do practice enough. who knows.

Thanks. I never thought of it that way. But since I shoot in RAW I always rename them after loading in PS so the originals are still in tact.

Not a problem I love it what else is their to say it is beautiful, To me the darkness has a beauty in of itself!! weather it apply to a artist's work, the artist themselves or just plan life. !!
