Nah, I just thought the creepy christmas carols were funny. There's also one about Cththlu and the Migo.

I guess the lesson from The Case of Charles Dexter Ward is that sometimes family can be evil... even parasitic. Or that given the chance maybe the dead can be jerks too in order to screw over the living?
It's just a short story but that part seemed meaningful to me for some reason.
