Mith - CGing Experiment — Description
Okay, this character is Mith, and belongs to Mithrandirff7 (original design was from Eriance, and I tweaked it some and gave it a paint job).

I hadn't really dared making another Cg since very recently and I tried her out. For the first time, I digitaly inked the character and applied her coloring based on what little I knew of Mith's fanfic. I decided to follow a method Capcom used for the fighting game sprites and colored my lineart layers to have darker colored contour; also experimented with layer styles to try and give some armor parts that silvery finish.

It seemed a great idea to color the lineart until I got to the shading part. I discovered that, unfortunately, I couldn't really include my lineart in the shading itself, making for some really wierd and highly indesirable effects. That kind of things wouldn't have happened with black lines because they would have covered my shadows edges... and so... I had to drop the shading attempt after laboring over it for five hours unsuccesfully.

While I consider my CG a 'failed one', I'm posting it up as a kind of lesson of humility for me - it was an experiment anyways and I'm sure I greatly benefited from it. Expect to see more digitally inked works because I like how it looks!
