So, anyone else feel this way about Prototype 2?I just hate the idea that Alex is the enemy in it... I mean come on. Everyone played through the first game as him.
I will get Prototype 2, but at the end, when you apparently have to fight Mercer (and probably consume him no?), I'll just set the controller down and cheer good ol' Alex on and watch Heller die numerous times until I decide I should just finish the game since I got that far. Sigh
I've gotta say I really like Heller's jacket. It's pretty freaking awesome. But why couldn't they have just given Alex that huh?? Sure sure, his clothes are like his body since they shift with him, but they could have found a way around that! Come on!! Ok, I'm done ranting.

Why is it that everybody likes Mercer better? He barley has any back-story compared to Heller. And in terms of game play, I think Heller handles better than Mercer

That's because the gameplay for Mercer was rushed instead of given more time shithead and if you consume all of the web of intrigue targets you'll learn plenty about Mercer which i'm sure you didn't do since you thought it would be a waste of your time.

First of all who said Alex the blacklight dead? have you NOT play the first game and kept track what goes IN the game? first off Alex can NOT die...if you go back play the first you would see this when they said ALEX susends death..meaning he can not die.
2nd, alex is the virus, the black light, can not kill a virus, when Heller consumed alex heller already lost right there...hellers dead when alex consumes heller.
3rd, Alex is much faster & stronger....enough said...whos the bitch now?

YES! I dislike James Heller! He just seem...so not badass. Mercer's back story in the first game was brilliant and they did a 180 with his character in the second game. Does Heller have to cuss so much? I don't mind cussing, but every other word is just too much. Makes him sound unintelligent. Not to mention hoods are awesome. I am just going to pretend that the second game is a completely different franchise.

I like Heller, he has a better back story than Alex Mercer. No need to go hating on James! As a matter of fact, My first name is James, is this cartoon, Alex Mercer is being a dippy to me right now! By the way, an epic fact. The meaning of the name "James", is The Replacer, or Overthrower. Boy that fits the fact that "For Now" James Heller is at the "Top Of The Food Chain" As Alex Mercer said with his dying breath. But really, I like Sgt. James Heller. He is pretty funny. And that is not the case with Alex. One of his first lines in the first Prototype is, "Now I gotta kill them too..." Really? I don't mean to say that Alex Mercer was not bad ass, but I am going to throw myself out of the croud of Alex Mercer lovers, and say that I think, that Alex Mercer is a Heartless Crazy Blacklight Lump. XD I did like his sister Dana, she was cool and I'm happy that she survived Prototype 2. Thats all I gotta say,

ive completed it now in 2 and a half days :3 not cuz its an easy game! trust me its fucking solid!!! its cuz im never off it and if u get limited edition you rewards 'n' shit! EPIC on the 30th of somthing (cant remember) this awesome armour comes out! which is better than the alex mercer armour! and guess what.....wait for it......ITS ALL FREE!!!!

alex died in the first game.we never played as alex merser, we played as the blacklight virus witch looked like alex.
james heller is also dead, (SPOILER DO NOT READ THE REST!)and since he consumed the first blacklight virus in the end of prototype 2merser is inside him. so alex merser and james heller and billions of people you killed are one being that takes the form of witch ever person its made up of. james heller is just the one in control right now. but yes i agree that merser is better then heller, he has been around longer and should be the ultimate life form...and since he is in heller now,maybe, hopefully, he can overcome james and take over kicking james out and turning him evil. [prototype3] anyone?

OMG YES!!! I hate heller!!!!! i played the entire game hoping he would die!!!!!!!!!
Why go through the process of an entire game as alex, when you just play to kill him off in the second? it makes no sence!! People grow attached to the main character because they spent so many hours in the first game uncovering his story, learning his memories, and building up Mercer to be the ultimate killing machine, and for what.....to kill him?
Dont get me wrong, i bought the game, and its fucking AWESOME!!! but whats the point of having a new protagonist, when your attached and in favor mercer?! what they should have done is expanded on mercer's story, and fill the plot holes from the last game, rather than introduce another fucking story, that doesnt explain the last one!!!
Its a GOOD fuckin game, but the ending is SHIT, god aweful, horrible, CRAP!!!
Team Mercer needs to band together now more than ever.....

i like the idea of alex the enemy because on the first prototype youve full upgraded him so theres nothing else you can really do besides he was kinda the enemy in the first prototype because he was the one who released the virus in the first place! yeah i do like mercer but and glad to play as him again but it gives it that little change and if you look on google images and tipe in blade arm and whipfist then you'll see how much stronger he looks! his blades are bigger so is his claws AND BLOODY HELL his whipfist is just 10000000x bigger lol just think hes chunkyer lol

I for one, am all for Heller. Don't get me wrong, I love Mercer. He's my bro, and I'll continue to play the first Prototype. But, Mercer went as far as he could in the storyline, maintaining the level of power he has. If they were to make Mercer the protagonist of the second game, they'd have to make him as powerless as he was in the begining of one. And that would leave a bad taste in everyones' mouth, I'm sure. And I think Heller's actually a deeper character than Mercer was in the first game. He has a real reason to be a dick and murder thousands of people. While in the first game, Mercer was kind of a flat character, his turning evil has allowed him to grow and expand as a (fictional) person. Even though, if Mercer would continue to grow his powers (Which he would, if it wasn't neccesary to beat him in the end.) he would absolutley own Heller, I still like the idea of having a new badass to run around new york with...And if you get Radnet addition, you can still play as Mercer.

Or they could have just made an alternate ending to Prototype 1 with thinking that the virus can't be stopped just destroyed and then leaving New York along with Ragland and Dana in the city and letting the bomb detonate but having guilt and regret along with sadness in him and then a new enemy shows up 2 years later to kill Alex to be the top Prototype along with Pariah who wants revenge on Alex for killing his/her mom Greene and having Alex improve his existing powers at least that's the way Prototype 2 should have been made.
