Description
My first RoboCop image to be made fully out of shape layers, by way of the 'Pen' tool in Photoshop, which is to be featured in a video production for YouTube.Related content

It's quite a violent look on the future of America and how corporations will take over, released in 1987, but the film has a lot of heart underneath the ultraviolence.

My thanks! This took an age to get done, I had never really done an image like this, so I had to do a lot of experimentation as i went alinf, but i am happy with the results 😄

You're welcome! The outcome is definitely worth all the efforts.

Thank you! I thought it wasn't too bad for a first attempt using just shapes to produce an image 😉

Some time ago. I had watched a YouTube video discussing why we don't have Robocops on the streets... Yet.
As of right now. There is no electrical battery that is small enough to be carried around by one bipedal machine. And has the capacity to power such a machine for long duration's of service hours.
As soon as such a batter exists, RoboCop will exist!

True, though batteries and becoming smaller and more powerful all the time, so give it about 5 years and I think we'll be there

Thanks. I had been asked to cut out an image of RoboCop for an online video, but I decided after the many captures I took from the DVD, to just do an image digitally instead, this was the result.

Thanks, I always enjoy doing RoboCop pics, but they always seem to take longer than I initially think

Yeah, the new RoboCop design really is not a patch on the original!

The hand has been part of a debate over at the RoboCop Archive forum since we first saw the pictures of the new suit, I personally nicknamed it the Robo Wank Hand, though we have assumed that there will be some sort of deep reasoning behind it in the movie... even though it makes no sense and it just makes the suit look even more pathetic.
It all feels like RoboCop 2 & 3 all over again

Glad you like it, I did think it was only going to take me a day or so to get it done... alas, the best laid plans

Wow! That's pretty nice. A touch that I only noticed when I zoomed in was the faintly "granular" look. Is that some sort of texture overlay? I really like the nice, clean, machined look to the tech, but my favorite part has to be the fine details on what can be seen of the face.

Thank you. The grain is actually underneath the gradient, basically, each little part of the above is made from layers, a total of 159 layers in fact. I create each shape with the Pen tool, then in Layer Style I apply the Pattern Overlay option, then I apply the Gradient Overlay option, with each gradient consisting of up to 9 colours. Thankfully his face only required 15 layers to produce
Overall, pretty tricky to complete, but I like it

Yow. My first inclination was to be aghast at all the layers ... but then, considering how much time and effort I end up going back and forth trying to fine-tune the typical face in a drawing, 15 layers might not be such a bad deal after all, if I could somehow manage a result anything at all like this.

It is unreal as to how much goes into one image, computer or traditionally drawn, this image does not have as many layers as my Crystal Castle image, which was almost 200, but it did have more than I thought it would. I have actually surprised myself though, this is only my 7th image to be produced completely with the Pen tool, so I am very chuffed with the result... and so was the person it was made for

Thanks, I had to go through a lot of textures before I found the one I liked the best!

Thanks, I actually found it a rather tedious image to produce, as each shape required a gradient of several colours, getting them to look right took forever, but I have been happy with the outcome
