It is an anime.
The story is complicated and if explained out-loud and out of context sounds..ridiculous. But if you actually watch it from start to finish it's really awesome. Battle scenes are super intense.Β
It's not hentai (mostly fan service really) but there's running-gag jokes that's definitely not for little kiddies or judgmental peers/adults/etc who assume the worst XD
