Description
Transformers G1 characters are owned and designed by Hasbro. The only design I own is my 'remake' of Tactician Prowl into a human.Featured here are: Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, twin lambroghini frontliners, Jazz of special operations and third in command of the Autobot army (well, actually, just his foot) and Prowl, second in command and head Tactician of the Autobot army.
And now comes the reveal of Jazz's earlier question "why the visor?" It was so Prowl could hide those pesky red bangs.
It's not because he's self conscious--oh no! And one wouldn't say Prowl was one of the vain Autobots, such as Sunstreaker or Tracks. Still, on some level he must care about appearances. Unless in battle, Prowl doesn't purposely enjoy the nature of the earth such as Hound or Trailbreaker. No, the choice for the visor was purely logical. As a human, Prowl knows he is now less awe-inspiring to his teammates, particularly those who measure value in inches rather than intelligence. In order to be still taken seriously as the Autobot second in command, he merely took precautions against certain predictable reactions. Like the one you will see on the next page! ;D (spoiler!)
The inspiration for this design came from: [link]
When I saw her design for human Prowl, I immediately thought...well yes, I suppose he could be a blonde, since his helmet is white, but then what would happen to his chevron? I decided then and there that Prowl would really be a red-head if ever humanized, and the comic idea was born! (waaay back in the winter of 2009) Back then it was just a black and white scribble no-reference drawing, and here we are today!
First because scanning the hand-drawn figures produced a grainy-quality picture. :
This in turn caused difficulties in colouring. I didn't want to hand colour the drawing because I wanted a nice smooth paint job on the Autobots. (Sunstreaker insisted.) That meant I had to colour each image sometimes pixel by pixel on Microsoft Paint!
I hate colouring yellow!
Add to that having to upgrade to Windows 7 and relearn hwo to use all the new tools, and that's why it took so long. Yet the upgrade was worth it--check out Prowl's cool textured hair! I couldn't have done that on the old version of Windows!
Comments are met with much love
