The moon casts it's errie glow over the city, and a young hero lies on a hospital bed. His friends, Connor and Amaya, had visited him earlier and left balloons, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Visiting hours are closed, but another character doesn't seem to care what the hour is.

From behind the window, Luna Girl peeks in, casting a shadow over the boy. Feelings conflict within her. In that moment, she should be seeing the face of her adversary, the insufferable Gekko, the one who ruins her plans time and time again, he and the rest of his PJ Pests. Yet, all she see's in a kid in bandages.

Luna Girl silently opens the window and hovers inside on her Lunaboard, making sure not to touch anything, not to make the tiniest trace of a peep. The interior had that sterile, hospital smell, and no sound apart from Greg's gentle breathing. She hovered down to Greg's bedside and watched as he inhaled and exhaled for several seconds.

"Hey, Lizard Legs," whispered Luna Girl, "how you feeling now?"

Greg was too far out to hear her.

"You know what? Don't answer that."

Luna Girl glanced at the flowers on the bedside table, the flowers she had left the previous night. They basked in the moon's faint lumination.

"Look, we both know that... thing, whatever it was went for me first."

She blinks, recalling the moment from behind her eyelids. The vicious creature lunged, causing her to fall from her board and lose her magnet.

"It came out of nowhere, I had no time to get away, but..."

She tried to scamper away as fast she could, but the monster was upon her in seconds, diving with blades for claws.. She closed her eyes tight. A scream escaped past her lips, then someone shouted 'Super Gekko Shields.'

"You saved me."

When the worst didn't happen, when the pain didn't come, she opened her eyes and there was Gekko, blocking the creature's attack. He glanced back at her, three cuts ran across his left cheek. Luna Girl saw that as her chance to escape. She ran and didn't look back, not as Gekko grunted and yelped out in pain.

"And all I've been asking myself ever since then was... why?" Luna Girl faced the boy in the hospital bed, the result of that night. "Why did you save me, after everything I've done to you? If you were in my place, I would never've saved you, and you know that. So... why?"

Greg remained still, eyes closed, chest rising and falling gently.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." She turned to leave. "Catch ya later, you loopy liz--"

Something grabbed her wrist. She jumped, stifling a scream.

A voice, weak but there. "Because... it's what I do..."

Luna Girl turned back and saw two green eyes and a small smile upon Greg's face.
