Meet The Night Shift.
When hero-masquerading-as-wannabe-villain, The Shroud, needed his own enforcers to help in his plans, he assembled this spooky crew. Made up mostly of horror-themed criminals and other fright-face goons, the Night Shift acted as the Shroud's underlings in his efforts to infiltrate the criminal world of the West Coast. Little did his team know he was in the game to destroy organized crime from within.
Making a deal with Hawkeye to help keep the Avengers out of his shady dealings, The Shroud was able to direct his team to take down other crime family's operations without much interference. He was even able to assist other heroes on cases, surreptitiously.
But all bad things must come to an end. Eventually his unwilling do-gooders found The Shroud out, kicking him out and keeping this straight out of a Spirit Halloween store gang in business on their own.
