Meet Broadhurst Center robot model no. Z2P45-9-X-51. Or just X-51, The Machine Man. Or Aaron Stack. Hey, man, sentient robots have identity issues sometimes.
Anyway, this guy was actually created for a 2001: A Space Odyssey comic series when Marvel had the rights to that property. He was kinda nifty and weird so he quickly got his own book and was introduced into the Marvel Universe proper.
Raised as a son by his creator, X-51 gained sentience by being exposed to an alien artifact, and his "father," Abel Stack, died removed a self-destruct device that had been implanted in the robot (X-1 thru X-50 all went mad when they gained sentience, so it was a logical precaution...I did the same to my Roomba, just in case). X-51 later took the secret identity of "Aaron Stack" in his honor.
X-51 ventured out into the world and tried to understand humans, often getting into typical comicbook punch-em-ups with bad guys. Being a comicbook robot, he can do all sorts of roboty stuff as needed and can also fly and stretch out his roboty bits like Inspector Gadget...think a Swiss Army Knife on legs.
He eventually met former (honorary) Avenger Jocasta and fell in love with the robo-lady. Unfortunately it was shortly before she died from being exploded. Aw, sad.
Later, after X-51 assists the Avengers, he is offered a reservist membership position on the West Coast branch. They apparently needed a logical robot guy since Vision went back to the East Coast. (This was clearly before you could just go out and buy a Roomba).
