Timberlane Cast — Description

Dwight is a starving musician in the dreary town of Timberlane Texas. A town where ghosts, monsters, or just the worst of the world inhabit. He dreams of escape but his senile and at times narcissistic Uncle Bill, his uncles gun crazy friend Beef, his friend Louis’s cruel “pranks”, keep him trapped in this nit house of a town. Can he achieve his dreams of making it big, Or will the town swallow him and his friends whole?
Main Characters
Dwight Layton: An aspiring musician and unluckiest person alive, Dwight is someone with dreams of grandeur and escape from the town of Timberlane Texas. Unfortunately no matter how much he tries, trouble is always on his heels, whether it's his narcissistic and senile Uncle Bill, his uncle's insane friend Beef, Louis’s cruel pranks, or another crazy person from the town. Dwight needs to escape the town with his dream being the only thing keeping him sane.
Louis Winermister: Louis is Dwight's coworker and is someone who takes joy at the expense of others. He is sarcastic and most often rude, pranking others to pass the time for himself. He loves to see himself as one of the “cool” guys and hates when things are out of his control. He’d rather flirt or talk at the front counter, putting more work onto Sarah or Dwight so he can relax, especially because he hates his job. He is a very cynical person and deflects any insecurity onto those who are easy to target.
Ashlie Lake: Dwight's new college friend and someone with an apathetic attitude along with a chip on her shoulder. After the constant bullying from her own mother and Trish's gang she's closed herself off from the world, preferring to listen to music on her headphones. She is very blunt and comes off as rude, but at one act of kindness she is easily flustered and softens her tone. Beef appreciates her dry and sarcastic tone, relating to her hiding her weak and vulnerable side, as they share similar cold world views. It's obvious that she would rather be anywhere other than Timberlane.
Sarah Dot: Dwight’s coworker and a light in the dreary town of Timberlane. She is a kind hearted person who never wants to be on the bad side of anyone. She was raised to be the perfect daughter, always polite, never to speak out of turn. This culminated in her repressing her anger towards someone like Louis, who manages to press her beyond her breaking point. She has always been a people pleaser and now struggles to make herself happy as she makes others. Louis and her often butt heads since he doesn’t believe someone as positive as Sarah can be genuine always.
Beef Wellington: Bill's best friend and someone who can always get under Dwight's skin, or more accurately cut into it. Beef is someone who has clearly given up taking care of himself with clothes that are unwashed and wrinkled, eyes yellowed, and a distinct smell of gunpowder. He tries to toughen up Dwight who he sees is a personal project, so he can face the world when the going gets tough. He believes pain is something to be played for laughs and no matter how hard he tries to fight his nature, he still struggles to sympathy.
Bill Layton: Dwight's senile, brash, and possibly insane Uncle, a man who loves to get a laugh at the detriment of others. His larger than life ego is always inflated by his retirement home friends, who with Bill, live back in their glory days. He constantly drags Dwight into his shenanigans, not caring for the consequences they will bring either of them. He is highly vindictive and petty, his insensitive nature always making his “apologies” ingenuine and half hearted.
Clara Greene: The rebellious daughter of Police Chief Laurence Greene, someone who fought the rules her whole life. After being caught vandalizing property for the twentieth time, she was facing either working under her father or going to jail for two years. She reluctantly took the offer. She is feisty, clever, but also cheerful with a smile on her face when away from work. At the jail or station she is often seen pouting, sulking, or giving the police around her sharp witted comments. She is quick witted and great at getting away from the police, using this to help those she considers friends.

Secondary Characters:
Hailey Potsfield: Dwight's childhood best friend, she is lively and energetic, whisking Dwight around to see the fun of town. She is very understanding of everyone's issues, always being the person you can tell all your problems to without being judged. But that is also to her detriment, not being able to ask for help herself, bottling it up and deflecting. She is very outgoing, gaining her the reputation of being popular at their college campus. She is excitable, once getting into a relationship with the quarterback Kyle Loomis, she couldn't wait to tell Dwight, her face so overjoyed and mood so high, she couldn't see Dwight's pained reaction.
Harrison Conager: Dwight's boss and the shrewd owner of the “Wonder Theater”. On the outside to guests he’s a man of enchantment and charisma, but for his workers he’s anything but. He’s a stingy and grumpy soul, who would rather bark orders and count down every millisecond of a break then spend a single cent more. He expects the best from his trio of workers and doesn’t like Dwight or Louis, Louis especially. He hates his slacker nature and how he would rather flirt than clean the disgusting counters or popcorn machine.
Frederick Aluminum: Dwight’s sleazy music manager, a man who always finds a way to add to his pocket. He always lets Dwight know how replaceable he is and how only with his help can he achieve his dreams.

Kyle Loomis: Kyle Loomis is Hailey’s new boyfriend and star quarterback on the Strode University football team. He is arrogant and full of himself, his little gang feeding into that. His father is one of the very few rich people of Timberlane, and spoiled his son who spends more money a week then Dwight makes in a month. He never does his homework with teachers being too afraid to give him anything below an A, while he goes out and parties. Dwight and him really don't like each other but pretend to get along for Hailey's sake.
“Butters” John Clark: Butters is one of Kyle’s goons, always following his lead to the letter. He is a bit dull allowing others to think and decide for him. He's very arrogant, believing he's much smarter than he thinks he is, and always the first to run away when trouble starts. He is terrible at getting into relationships because Axel or Kyle are always jealous and dares him to do something that ruins it everytime, knowing he wont back down. He earned his nickname from a dare when he ate a whole stick of butter in front of his crush, earning his friend's respect and losing his chance with her.
“Axel” Noah Perdita: Kyle's right hand man, he is the suck up of the two henchmen. He is car obsessed, loving racing while avoiding his school responsibilities. He gained his nickname after trying to pop a wheelie in his grandmother's car to impress a group of girls, but the front wheel and axle flew out sending it crashing down. He's a hopeless romantic, trying to get girls but always sends them running two minutes in. He believes himself to be a “ladies man”, he is beyond full of himself, and is incredibly cocky.
Clementine Huckleberry: The Timberlane florist and Haley's boss. She is a motherly figure for Hailey with plenty of advice for all her problems. She has a warm presence and her shop radiates a cozy rustic vibe. She has a zero tolerance for miscreants and troublemakers, especially in her shop. She has a banned board for the likes of weirdos or annoyances like Beef, Bill, and Butters. However, she does enjoy Dwight’s company and lets him hang around the store if he ever needs anything and he returns the favor. Sbe like a mother player's matchmaker and tries to get her employees someone special, like supporting Dwight with Hailey. Her friendly personality fades whenever specifically Beef shows up and the two of them inevitably get into a spat.
“Dr Static” (Drew Collins): The host for the local game show. Born to be a star, he emerged from a middle-class family with dreams larger than life. He has such a way with words that dazzled the higher ups at the broadcasting station so much so they gave him his own quiz show, “Danger!” Which he made to have real stakes after being tired of the boring game shows that television is full of. The more pain the better the ratings and that's all he soon cared about. His stage persona infected his own as he became one with his stage name, growing more ill tempered the more the player wins.
