Thanks to (Β www.deviantart.com/icon-uk ) Icon-UK and their idea/concept concerning Cap's transformation, I've found myself sketching around looking to capture the "thunder clap" that transforms 15 year old teenager Davy Davis into the awesome and powerful Captain Rally.Β"Rather than a magic word, since he's powered by the thunder, maybe his transformation is effected by clapping his hands together, like a literal "clap of thunder"?"
Brilliant! While Shazam has his magic lightning bolt and a magic word to transform, Rally has a thunder clap. Again, to quote Icon-UK: "This is a an awesome design, "derivative" be darned!"
I couldn't agree more. If the big corporations can't create what I want, I'll just do it my self! LOL

Thanks for posting your process! The sketches look really cool! It's neat to get a peek behind the curtain. Do you always start with pen and paper and transfer to digital? Cause I'm amazed at just how much drawing you're able to post sometimes. What program do you typically use? Any preferred mediums?

LOL I have a specific system I use: absolutely anything that gets the job done. LOL
Honestly, most of the work I've been posting are pencil on paper and colored in Photoshop using my mouse. It's annoying but my tablet has been giving me issues. Also, I kind of like the sketchy feel of this. (Seeing the artist behind the art kind of thing.) What will probably happen with this drawing is that I create a few more drawings, scan them all and the re-make it all in photoshop. Maybe a hand is too big or something. Then I'll quick color it using my mouse. It can be a pain but I like the results.
I NEED to find the cable for my tablet. Coloring would be so much easier. I could look at messing with ink too.
Scan, Photoshop and Clip Studio are my go-to programs. :)

Hahaha! Nice that you stay open to all your tools! That's cool! The finished pages come out really nice, so I commend you for your effortsπ. I've been thinking about getting into Clip Studio. How do you like that software?

Absolutely get Clip Stupid. It is not only priced decent it is great for cartooning and creating comics. Love it.
