Description

Sunlight pours into the bedroom.

I gaze past the mirror—

tree branches swaying

in a cool breeze.

Thump-thump.

Has his heart always raced like this?

My head rises from his chest.

My eyes lock onto his.

“We still have time,” he whispers, covering my eyes with his palm.
