There are many ways such fictional weapons can have sights you can't see. It looks like it could easily have sensors built in which connect to the users armour or tactical helmet.

...out of curiosity, did you design this to be a laser rifle?.. ...it looks good either way, but I did wonder if that's what you were aiming for when you created it.

Yeah, kind of.. in the game is presented as a Ion rifle and it supposed to be somekind of a plasma/laser gun.
