Brawl’s StoryTabuu is a very mysterious, incredibly human-like figure. He poses as the main antagonist and final boss of Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s Story/Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. Not much is known about him, just that he’s meant to lord over the dark void-like location known as Subspace.
He has a purple, gem-like core that Pikachu has likened to Deoxys - though Mario didn’t remember that name - and a variety of extraordinary powers. His wings in particular are able to one-hit K.O. someone in a fight. He’s not typically meant to have his wings out often, but Mario says that - in the few times he’s seen him - he usually does. However, Mario admits that he rarely ever sees Tabuu.
When Mario, Freddy Fazbear, and Twilight Sparkle are captured, and brought to the Smash world, Mario sees the hand supposedly working for the dragons, alongside Master Hand and Crazy Hand. It’s revealed that he’s holding portals open. Mario believes he notices Tabuu appearing dejected and guilty.
After Master Hand’s sabotage is revealed, the dragons order Crazy Hand and Tabuu to attack the Digidestined. Tabuu hesitates, but seems to actually be willing to. Despite seeming sad, he still summons the Chains of Light. Mario begs for him not to work for them, arguing that the dragons can be fought against and beaten, but despite worry and apprehension, Tabuu attacks anyway.
