Description
Simpler than some of my other abstracts in the same family, this piece portrays its namesake through the gradual fade as the colors diminish from top to bottom. The layering and complex entropy orchestration of each and every pigment accumulates in the feeling of descending from the surface deep into the black. This feeling is best achieved through starting your eye at the top of the painting, and gradually scanning down (even though the eye is naturally lead this way).
Abyss, 20” wide (x) 40” tall, mixed with acrylic on canvas, 2022.
