Going way back to 1987, another deep cut is Faust, a graphically violent and explicitly sexual indie darling that set the world on fire with Love of the Damned, his first series. Tim Vigil brought the mayhem in bucketloads and every page was a blood soaked delight. He was essentially a horror flavoured Wolverine and Batman and was before Spawn, who he may have helped inspire.
