Description

Ok Kids so you want to learn how to draw those cool baggy folds but were to start cause that stuff seems tough. Let me break it down for you.

First this is this is a loose baggy sleeve and you can apply this to trousers even body jackets but for simplicity we are just going to see the application I use.
Call it drawing folds for dummies (ME)
first understand that this works for any living being with a shoulder or a hip so don't worry.

let me explain the steps if my terrible hand writing is too hard to ready.
Step 1
Identify that the cloth is either hanging or attached to a anchor point ok, otherwise it is going to act according to Gravity.

from the shoulder there is only one way to go--- to the elbows or flow down.
in the inner elbows you usually get the first set of folds or bumps. and at the wrist is were you either get that last bump or a pile on cause thats were you stop the flow of the cloth.

Step 2
Power Tri-angles. Add those bad boys to the edges of the sleeves to just add a sense of flow and looks unique right.
Don't over DO it, WE just need a few not a 100.

Step 3
a rough sketch, if you are going to draw it i would suggest on anew layer with cleaner and tighter lines. Thing about over laps and Flow , Use "c,y,s and L" to get those overlaps . EASY

Step 4

ok first we need a flat color , any color but i would say choose a plane flat color, not too bright or dark. Then on a new layer add the shadow shapes,
you can use the lasso or a diagonal brush and just erase any bits you don't like. LETS GO !!!

Step 5

ok start softening those edges, I will make a tutorial about this topic but remember turning forms like cylinders spheres or pipes have a soft gradation but usually close object overlapping create sharp shadows according to how close they are to each other, so just softly blend the edges but don't over blend the shapes, we should still be able to recognize the shapes and forms.

Step 6

just polish and add subtle details, remember USE REFERENCE and notice i didn't add much or many highlights or colors, KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Step 7
have fun and come up with your own cool designs.
HAve fun
