Thank you to everybody who has given me opportunities or ways to return to create different content beyond SFM.

Thank you to everybody who helped me learn how to play a silly game about hats.
Thank you to everybody who understood when I made things for a silly game that wasn't about hats.
Thank you to everybody who have helped me travel the world to help out a silly game about hats.
Thank you to everybody who helped me and many others help out youth who needed us through a silly game about hats.

Thank you to everybody who understood that when I hurt, I may have hurt you - and even if I cannot understand, I am sorry if I hurt you.
Thank you to everybody who has been a rock to lean on when I needed to lean on somebody strong.
Thank you to everybody who trusted me as their rock to lean on when they needed somebody most.
Thank you to everybody who has respected me when you and I cannot agree one way or another - I may not agree either, but I respect you deep down.
Thank you to everybody who cannot stand me and has lashed out either at me, or somebody else because of me - I forgive you, and I hope you realize I'm not important to you.
Thank you to everybody who has relied on me to guide their ways - I hope you realize I'm not you, but I'm glad I could help you figure out you.

Thank you to everybody who has taught me great things - directly, indirectly, material-wise, or a life lesson to cherish.
Thank you to everybody who has given me the kindest, sweetest words - and to those who have given more direct approaches with good intentions.
Thank you to everybody who I've made a difference for, or if I've helped you in some small or significant part of your life in the past.
Thank you to everybody who has helped me in the same way I hope I've helped others, and I hope you've helped the people closest to you similarly.

Thank you to everybody who has struggled with me when I remembered I was only but human.

Thank you for being here for me.
But most importantly -

You'll hear this one more time if you didn't hear it already. You may believe in what I have to say. You might not just yet, or even ever. And that's okay.

You are important. You are awesome. You are capable of awesome things even if they might not be the biggest spectacle, even if they might not be noticed.

There will be moments where you won't feel like it. There will be moments where it feels like everything you do or try is absolutely pointless.
There will be moments where your friends or family, the people closest to you, might not be around or turn around from you.
There will be moments where you forget to turn around for them - or might need to turn your back on them when you realize they might no longer be able to be your friend.
There are moments where you have to admit, after the pride and hurt washes away, you've thought wrongly about something - or perhaps all this time that you thought you were wrong, you weren't wrong at all.
There will be moments where you definitely, most undeniably, screw up. There will be moments where that feels like the end of the world, and there's nothing left and nobody is around.

You're not alone. This is the challenges we all face as artists, content creators, friends, family - living, breathing entities in the world who can make, and who can feel.

You can do it. I believe in you. If you don't believe me - then let yourself believe in you.
This is why I'm thanking you for being here. You are the reason I am here.

I've felt and given kindness. Just like that, I have had it taken away - and I have taken it away myself.
I'm not perfect - but I want to be better. That's not easy for me. That's not easy for anybody. I want to be better for other people - but first, I want to be better for me so I'm better for other people.

And when I need to take on the world slowly or take a break from it altogether, you've helped me with that fight. Whether it's being there for me during a struggle - or even telling me my art looks really cool.

At the essence of humanity that is willing to open not only their minds and their hearts, that is the humanity I wish to continue to love. To appreciate. To respect. To look up to. To laugh with. To understand. To sympathize. To create for. To create with.

Thank you for being here.
Thank you for this year.

Whether this was a good year or a not-so-good year - I hope the new year for you will bring you more than the last.

This poster was made a while back for a friend who wanted it printed out and collaged with other people's posters, to have people sign and give to Valve in-person. So, thank you Valve - for inspiring me with not just your silly game about hats, but your lovable characters and your ridiculously dumb ass stories within the silly game about hats. That's probably what I care about the most and why I continue to do fanart for it.
