New submission time everybody! I'm continuing with my Kamen Rider Camelot artwork batch. This time around, I'll be introducing the secondary rider, Kamen Rider Merlin a.k.a. the arthurian wizard Merlin. Like Aiden, Merlin transforms using the Avalon Legendriver and the Avalon Crests. His main (and only standard) form is called "Wizard Form" and he uses the Avalon Magi Wand as his main weapon.

Here's Merlin's basic character synopsis: "As the legend says, Merlin was the guide of King Arthur as well as a magician. After the king's death, Merlin decided to take the remaining pieces of Arthur's kingdom into the realm of Avalon at the cost of more than half of his magical abilities, leaving everything related to King Arthur to become a myth. Known to be a bit snarky and clumsy, Merlin is nonetheless intelligent and brave man who risks his life to protect both Avalon and the real world alongside their residents."

So as I said under Aiden's submission, he is the only OC in the entirety of KR Camelot. Everyone else (thus far, anyway) is a character from Arthurian lore adapted into this world. With this reimagining comes certain changes to what is carried over from the real world; as such, for the sake of the story, all original King Arthur works were created by Merlin under different names in order to convince civilians that King Arthur and all related things were simply a myth. Fun note, the original arthurian lore rider I drafted also had Kamen Rider Merlin as a secondary rider, same name and identity. In that version however, Merlin was the only character from Arthurian lore to be an active character.

Design-wise, Merlin shares a base undersuit with Camelot, just with different armor on top, like most secondaries who use the same belts as the main riders. Whereas Camelot has a gemstone in the center of his chest, Merlin has a magic circle that shares a design with the one on the Magi Wand. His helmet is also less animal-like and is more mask-like with a wizard hat-like design. With his helmet, the robe around his waist, and the smoother design of the armor, it's suppossed to give off the impression that Kamen Rider Merlin is simply a wizard in armor, which he actually is. Then, of course, you have his Avalon Crest, which is inspired by the Triskelion from the BBC show Merlin, just without the circles. As for Merlin's "civilian" outfit, it'll make more sense with a later submission, trust me.
