Autumn-Roads ... — Description
My entry to the contest: [link]

Autumn is my favorite time of year (well next to winter). And though I listened to an instrumental version of the song Autumn Leaves while working, I absolutely love the Nat King Cole (or Doris Day ) Version as well, especially the melancholy tone of the second stanza:

"Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall"

It expresses itself like a memory, although filled with a bit of sad longing, it has a heart felt fondness too ... like a summer romance from our youth. This deviation makes me think of how memories are like little scenes in our minds and are usually attached to a season or an event ...

Autumn Leaves (Lyrics)

(french lyrics by jacques prévert,
English lyrics by johnny mercer,
Music by joseph kosma)

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

I hope you like.
