Moscow block1 — Description
The Moscow Class Cruiser Block 1 modification. Like all late 21st century Yaren/Human hybrid designs it requires a large rotational section to maintain artificial gravity. For the most part the Crew work and fight in 0 gravity. while able to travel at about 2.5 Gs of thrust the ship often simply uses its massive KT Drive coils to create artificial worm holes to travel. The ship is based on the old Hope class colony ship first launched in the mid 21st century. Although Moscow Class cruiser is far more advanced than the Hope series which relied on it thrust to provide any gravity for the few crew members who remained out of cryogenic sleep. The Moscow class cruiser has twin rail-guns as its main arms to support itself in other methods of combat the ship uses 57mm ETC cannons as defensive armaments against incoming fire. Its early KT drives are incredibly fast able to jump from Earth to Bellfast a 187,000 light year jump in a mere 36 hours, but require a 72 hour recharge period and entering a worm hole can be a tad rough mean that the crew must prepare for a jump by clinging to the walls of the ship before a jump. Because of the mobility drawback of waiting there are 6 meters of armor. The inner armor is tungsten carbide wrapped in hyper dense carbon fiber covering the crystal alignment radiation deflecting material, which is also very brittle as such it is layered like Chobham armor keeping radiation shielding protected in a blanket of protection. Since much of its patrol time can easily be spent floating in space it deploys solar panels to provide power to the crew while the engines are recharged by the reactor. While being an antiquated design its massive 203mm cannons can fire a hyper dense Depleted Uranium slug at a speed of Mach 15 with enough force to mimic a Nuclear Apocalypse grade event if 10 rounds can be fired on a planet at full power. Thanks to these massive guns were developed by a Moscow college student giving her the right to name the ship class. There are 5 Block class series of this ship serving the United Earth Colonial Federation Space Forces a legacy ship. As the generatons pass the ships are given newer power cores targeting computers and live support features.
