Description
Here we have Bleez vs. Morrigan. Bleez, a mad warrior of the Red Lanterns, from DC Comics against a fan favorite in Morrigan, from the Darkstalkers video game. I don't draw enough women, so this was a perfect chance to get a mashup done and practice drawing the lovely ladies. Whenever I create my images I try to do so with spacing to allow for a title and any other text/graphics within the page.I am attempting to bring a brighter tone to my work. I still want to make it gritty or dark, but with a brighter tone so everything is more visible. I did a lot more work with the color holds, making the lines more than just one color. I am trying to mix animation styled coloring and rendering with that of the more realistic modeling done in some comics. I love what I see in animations like Full Metal Alchemist, Darker than Black and Naruto, but I also love the fact that when the budget permits, more tones are added as well, really evident in the best DBZ episodes.
I am still enthralled by contrast and change and I am trying to bring that forward in my color work now. Some of the new drawings i'll be doing may have that evident, but if it's not seen in the character drawing, it will either be handled with the color tones, or the spacing. I did some reviewing of my past work and i think the best work I do always shows a good amount of spacing, from foreground to background, so I tried bringing that across here.
I hope you like what you see, faves are the best form of support here along with comments, and I still do custom commissions, so feel free to leave me a not to get your idea put on paper=]

Nice one! I'm rooting for Morrigan (wasn't into the whole rainbow lantern thing).

what kept you away from the different lanterns? I personally have no hat in the ring, just enjoy a good fight

Somehow it just felt gimmicky to me.

Have you had a chance to read blackest night? I actually enjoyed the mythos they created to bring in the other colors. It only made sense to me because they had the 3 colors already in existence so bringing in other colors was not too far a stretch... this 3rd army thing feels gimmicky to me....

I bought and skimmed Blackest Night, lol. Well, I think pre-crisis had Sinestro as the only yellow ring and Star Saffire wasn't a power ring character so I think it was just green back in the day.

sinestro had the only ring post crisis too until he made a corp for himself, which can be read about in the Sinestro War trade paperbacks, and Star Sapphire you're right about, but the rings are only conduits, all of the corps are powered by their respective color's gems which are housed in their power batteries such as the GL's one on Oa.
