Gamecube World — Description

I've decided I want to try something different than what i usually do. The vibe of Super Mario as of now is something completely different than what it used to be in the late 90's/early 00's. Back when everything had eyes and things like power-ups got redesigned every other game for no reason.
That being the era that introduced me to Mario (the GameCube and GBA were my first consoles) I thought I would try my hand at recreating that style of Mario in sprite form. I call it Project GameCube World after the peach's castle tech demo on the game cube.
This is just a sample of what I'm attempting to do. A lot of these sprites were taken straight from Super Princess Peach. Namely the grass, flowers, and tree. The Hills were recolored from Super Mario Bros 3 and modeled after @Pixel9Bit 's sprites. The brick blocks are by @kingpendragon and the ? block is from Superstar Saga edited to look like the block from Mario Party 7 (it only appears in one minigame smh). Vivian is by @TheCynicalPoet the goombas are by A.J. Nitro and the Ally attack block is by me using a shrunken shine sprite by Omega. The sky, clouds, and dirt are also by @Pixel9Bit
